It’s Party Time It seems like there is always a reason to throw a party. The year is filled with birthdays, graduations, retirements, anniversaries, and so much more. Each event is special, and every party deserves to be extraordinary. All it takes is a few simple steps. Guest List The guest list will help answer many questions such as when and where to have the party, how much food to order, and what special amenities need to be planned. For example, if you are inviting several families, you will want to have a kids’ area complete with crafts and toys. Adult gatherings can be booked at more formal locations, and small groups can actually enjoy a simple backyard event. Theme The occasion will be the first clue as to what the party’s theme could be. Anniversaries are the easiest. A 50th would be decorated with gold while a 25th would be done in silver. Children’s parties can center on a favorite character or sport, and adults can have parties that reflect their favorite place such as Hawaii. All decorations, table ware, and stationary should match the theme. Food Here again you will reference the guest list for clues. Adults are happy with simple appetizers and drinks while family events require full meals that include plenty of kid favorites like mac-n-cheese or chicken nuggets. Take note of any guests with food allergies or special diets so that no one feels left out, and no party is complete without desert. Graduation parties often hire a DJ to supply music and dancing.
