Contact Pages Matter More On Political Sites

Contact Pages Matter More On Political Sites

Operating a politically-themed site is a challenge. Because of the volatile nature of the subject matter, it's even more important to have a clear line of communication between authors and readers. Once someone reads a political theory or position, they usually have something to add to the discussion. It might be an opposing viewpoint or additional thoughts that expand on the original content. Site owners need to encourage this kind of discussion because it helps create a clearer picture of the specific issue.

A site that proposes a theory about neoconservatives, for example, needs to have a welcoming and open-minded contact page that explains how to reach the author for further discussion. For example, if the author believes that conservatives discouraged discourse about Iraq war horrors, it should be willing to hear from the other side about the matter, too. By hearing what the opposition thinks, the author can then clarify and continue the discussion with further evidence to bolster his theory. This kind of discourse is great for everyone. As long as it's friendly and helps discussion evolve, it's the best way to reach agreement and decide what actions should be taken to improve everyone's life from this point forward.

A good contact page has a few very simple characteristics. It's straight-forward and friendly. It explains the purpose of the site in general and the owner or owners in particular. Then it goes on to explain how to contact the author or owner of the site in a way that invites people to do so. Most people who write online want to hear from their readers, even if those readers don't agree. Wording an invitation for viewpoints means ushering in comments from dissenters, too, who want to argue an opposite point. Invite them to do so but be respectful in their communication. Once they see that you're open, it's likely that they will also be open to listening to someone who disagrees with them.

Options for contact include inviting them to email, fill out a form, or in some cases even call. The more options for communication the better because not everyone wants to call but many people would email an opinion. Once they've got the method of communication, they can contact the author and help a site grow. A site with a good relationship with visitors usually grows and is useful.

Giving Back With World Vision Gift Catalog! #Giveaway

One holiday gift idea that I have enjoyed sharing with my readers for the past several years is World Vision's gift catalog. What a great way to give back during a season when more and more people are bit by the bug of materialism, and this time of giving turns more into a time of "What can I get?" When you shop the World Vision gift catalog, you are helping someone in need!

I received the Drops of Turquoise Jewelry set for review. This set comes with a necklace, bracelet, and earrings, and each piece is available separately in the catalog. These are handmade by artisans in Delhi, who are given the opportunity to support themselves and their families now. The necklace is honestly something that's more bold and eye-catching than I would normally wear. I tend to prefer the smaller jewelry that really isn't noticed much. However, I'm a turquoise fan, so I decided to try it out-and found that I really liked it! The turquoise adds that western touch I love so much, and I have enjoyed wearing the necklace and bracelet with various outfits. I have received multiple compliments on these pieces too! (I don't have my ears pierced, but the earrings are beautiful too-I'm passing these on to a friend).

World Vision has a large selection of gift ideas that will allow you to not just find gifts for your family and friends, but at the same time, help out those less blessed than ourselves. Jewelry, tote bags, and headbands are just a few of the beautiful handmade pieces you can order-check them out today!!

One of my readers will receive the Drops of Turquoise Jewelry Set!!

Mold Remediation in Washington DC

Mold is a very serious problem that can have negative health consequences for people who are exposed to it on a regular basis. Therefore, it is important to have it removed immediately if it is discovered in your home. However, this is not a job that you will be able to handle on your own. You will need to bring in a professional company to make sure that your mold has been completely removed without any residue remaining behind. Do you think mold is in your home? It is important to act quickly if you suspect this is the case. Here are the steps you should follow.

1. Find a mold inspection and removal company

The first thing you will need to do is find a company that specializes in looking for mold and removing it when they find it. You should find out how long the company has been in business. Be certain that they have plenty of experience. You must be sure they know what they are doing so you will not need to call another company later.

2. Get your home inspected

Now you will need to make sure beyond the shadow of a doubt that there is indeed mold in your home. You will need to hire a professional mold inspection company in order to do this correctly. They will use their equipment to go through your home and look for areas where mold is present in locations that are not easy for people to see. This usually includes the use of devices that are capable of diagnostic and visual inspections. Areas such as attics and crawlspaces will be looked at because these are places where mold is known to grow undetected. The inspectors will be on the lookout for any places where water is leaking into your home and moisture is accumulating. Obviously, mold needs moisture to flourish. This is why it is so important to stop moisture from penetrating your home. For mold remediation near Washington DC, you can visit http://www.moldgone.net/ to learn more information.

3. Get the mold removed

Hopefully, you will not find any evidence of mold in your home. If you do, you will need to set up an appointment to have it removed. The mold removal company will give you instructions about how to handle things and what precautions should be taken. Have your home inspected again in six months to make sure the mold has not returned.

Your Pets Will Love Evanger's Pet Food and Treats!!

I think my Sheltie, Glory, has become one of the biggest fans of my blogging in the past couple months. That's because she's enjoying all the new food, treats, and accessories I've been getting in for review lately! Recently I received a whole box of goodies from Evanger's, a dog and cat food company. This box included an assortment of Evanger's canned dinners for dogs, as well as some treats.

Now, when I say canned dinners for dogs, I mean exactly that. These aren't your run-of-the-mill, cheap-o cans of dog food that look about like bologna that's been shredded in a blender, then packed down in a greasy can. These are grain-free, hand-packed, premium meals for your pet! When you open a can, you can actually tell that the food inside is what it's labeled on the outside! Roasted chicken drummer dinner, braised beef chunks with gravy, hunk of beef, and catch of the day are just a few of Evanger's canned meals that Glory has been enjoying over the past few weeks.

Glory also likes Evanger's line of dog treats. Their jerky treats are probably her favorite out of any treats I've ever given her - she loves them! I'll give her one, she swallows it down, and sits there with those puppy eyes asking for another one! (Yes, she's very hard to resist!) Anytime I open the package Glory comes running from whatever part of the house she's in at the time, and waits very impatiently for as many treats as she can convince us to giver her!

So this holiday season, don't forget to give your beloved pets a treat too-any dog or cat will love Evanger's lines of canned meals or treats!!

Loving Pets Double Dog Diner Review!

Loving Pets is a company many of you may be familiar with. I've had the opportunity to review a couple of their products in the past, and I was excited when given another chance to do so again. This time I actually received two great new products from Loving Pets; the Wicker Dolce Diner in black, and the Osso Dolce Diner in aqua! We also received several bags of their dog treats, but more on those later.

The Dolce Diner is a very nice looking double dish feeder that has a wicker textured base. The medium size has two 28 ounce dishes, so this is perfect for Glory, my Sheltie. My favorite part of this doggie diner is how easy it is to clean. Because the bowls are removable, and the base is made of a heavy duty plastic, cleanup is extremely easy. Wash the bowls in your sink, and just use a damp cloth to clean off the base if needed. It also features rubber feet, which means this doesn't slide around while Glory's trying to lick up the remains of her food!

The Osso Double Diner is also a base with two removable dishes, but this one is a fun dog bone shaped base. The small is a little too small for Glory's needs, but will be perfect for her litter of puppies (due any day now!) when they move up to eating moist puppy food. Again, this is easy to clean-you can actually remove the rubber feet and just throw it in your dishwasher if you want!

Of course Glory's favorite part of this review was the dog treats. We received Puffsters and Waggles, and she absolutely loves both of these! She is especially fond of the Waggles, which are natural chicken skins. She loves crunching down on these treats! The Puffsters are also a hit; these are air-popped snacks available in several flavors: apple and chicken, banana and chicken, cranberry and chicken, and sweet potato and chicken. Glory isn't picky; she likes all the
varieties!

If Glory could talk, I'm sure she'd offer a resounding yes if asked to review Loving Pets products again!

Dollywood-Our Family's Favorite Theme Park!!

Since visiting Pigeon Forge last year, it has quickly become our family's favorite vacation destination. We actually extended our visit a couple days this year, and ended up staying for 11 days! One of the highlights of this visit was going back to Dollywood, the amusement park that is now our entire family's favorite!

We decided I need this vehicle, because it matches my outfit so perfectly! :)

We arrived first thing in the morning to ensure we'd have plenty of time for all the rides. The girls' first request was to revisit the Smoky Mountain River Rampage, a white water rafting ride that is super fun, and more than a little likely to leave you dripping! We were actually able to ride three times in a row before deciding we were wet enough for the rest of the day, and headed off to the roller coasters.

I admit to not being able to make up my mind which coaster at Dollywood is my favorite. Wild Eagle is super fun, but right up there at the top are also the Tennessee Tornado and Thunderhead, the wood coaster. I love how quickly lines move at Dollywood (I know, probably not in the summer when they're packed!) because we were able to ride Thunderhead three times in a row, and Tennessee Tornado about 5 times. We were aiming to do the same with Wild Eagle, but unfortunately when we went back later in the afternoon they were closed for maintenance, so we only got one ride on this coaster.

While at Dollywood we also had to stop by the Grist Mill for a loaf of cinnamon bread. This is something that has been mentioned multiple times by someone (I won't mention M's name!) since last year, and in fact was so popular with our family that I started making a similar recipe at home!

As we were slowly making our way towards the exit, M convinced us to go ride the Waltzing Swinger and the Scrambler. Yes, all three of us crammed into one seat for the Scrambler, and M was making people laugh with her crazy faces and screams!

Our very last stop was at the SGMA Hall of Fame and Museum, which is a great part of the park for those who love Gospel music. We really enjoyed wandering through here, and are thankful that Dollywood has this museum on it's premises!

Thrilled to see our very good friend Scott featured in the museum!

Needless to say, our family loved every minute we spent at Dollywood, and are looking forward to going back next year!

Kids Academy Preschool Education Center #FREEKidsApp

This blog has partnered with Mom Buzz Media to announce this exciting information!

Kids Academy Releases Preschool Education Center for iOS and Android!

How many of you love educational games for your kids? Our family loves playing games on our various devices, especially on road trips. For example, we just got back from a 2 week trip, that had us driving 12 hours each way, and games on the iPad makes the time go much faster!

Kids Academy – the team behind some of the top educational apps for kids with over 10 million downloads worldwide just released the long-awaited version of their flagship app – Preschool Education Center. As the name suggests, Preschool Education Center is an all-in-one educational app for kids and toddlers. The app covers all aspects of early childhood education from the alphabet and reading to writing, building vocabulary and developing math skills. Based on the proven Montessori method the app offers a number of fun games that help master essential learning skills through play.

This is a pretty fun app for young children to get a start on learning. Select from math, reading, writing, a library of read-aloud books, and kids tv. This is great for keeping children busy on road trips, at the doctor’s office, or around the home. The best part is that they’re actually learning though, not just playing games. It is entertaining enough to keep your child’s attention, with fun, bright colors, and engaging activities.
My only “complaint”, so-to-speak, is that I feel the read-aloud books should have been abridged/edited for younger children. The first page of Puss In Boots uses the word patrimony, and I don’t think your average preschooler is going to understand that! Otherwise however, this is a fun app for youngsters.

Until now, Preschool Education Center has only been available on iTunes but today's release makes it finally available for Android device on Google Play! This fun and free app is currently being featured in the Family section of the Android store in the USA, Australia and Canada.

Get the app free on Google Play!

Starting A Website

Have you been thinking about starting a website for a long time? Perhaps you want to have a site just for your own leisure purposes. Do you want to start your own online business to supplement the income you earn from your full-time job? You may also want to eventually quit your job and work online as your full-time profession. It does not matter which of these scenarios accurately describes you, the first step to accomplishing your goal is to decide what your site will be about. This is a tough decision. Here are some ideas for websites that you might want to consider.

1. Sports

Sports are extremely popular in every part of the world. Of course, certain sports are more popular than others in various regions. Therefore, if your site will be getting most of its traffic from a specific country, you need to be sure the sports you are discussing are relevant to your core audience. Fantasy sports leagues are also extremely popular now. This is a type of sports gambling where people choose their teams from actual players and win cash prizes based on how well their players perform. Since so many people are interested in fantasy sports, providing information about it will definitely give you additional visitors to your site that you would not have otherwise had.

2. Urban news

Catering to a specific niche that not many sites are catering to will help your site grow very quickly. The key is to select a very popular topic that does not have much of an Internet presence. Urban entertainment news is a great example of one of these topics. Covering this type of news has enabled Lee Bailey's Electronic Urban Report to grow at a steady rate. You can explore it by visiting http://www.eurweb.com/category/entertainment/.

3. A blog

A blog will allow you to write about topics that you really care about. You can also choose to make your blog about a specific topic that many people are interested in. Video games and the gaming lifestyle are popular enough to support a daily blog because there are so many things to write about. Just make sure your blog topic is something that you are very knowledgeable about. If you are just posting fluff that does not require any knowledge of the topic, your readers are certain to notice. You can also hire people to write guest blog posts.

Heading To National Quartet Convention Next Week!

Hey everybody, quick update here! I am so excited to be heading out this Saturday to visit one of my favorite places in the country - Pigeon Forge, TN - and attending my all-time favorite event, the National Quartet Convention! Our schedule there is pretty hectic throughout the week, but I'll be sharing updates, pictures and video as I get the chance, and also sharing some reviews the following couple weeks after we get home. Pigeon Forge is home to some of the best restaurants (can't beat southern cooking!) and wonderful family attractions, so keep watching for updates over the next few weeks!

Being Amazed At Horses

Being Amazed at Horses
A horse may simply be a common animal to some, but the truth is that a horse represents a sense of freedom, empowerment and even joy. Adults and children can get excited as they see a horse running in a field or standing proudly in a stable. People love horses, and there are many who like to see horses in person.

Fair Time
A county fair is a popular event to attend in numerous communities. There are homemade items to see, food to purchase, politicians to listen to or ignore and the list goes on. Children and adults love to go to the stables and barns to see the animals. The horses that are there may be the first time a child sees a horse in person. Although children may not know whether a horse is an American Quarter Horse or another breed, the fact remains that they are interested in the horse itself. They may see a child close to their own age who owns a horse they are viewing. A child may touch a soft nose or stroke a mane if given permission. A small gesture can make a wonderful memory that will last for a lifetime with a child.

Race Time
Whether people watch a horse race in person or on television, people like to see horses in action. Many do not realize the time and effort it takes for a horse and rider to get ready for a race. A rider has to compliment a horse, and there is specific training that must take place in order for a successful race to occur. In addition to this, the care of a horse must not be overlooked. There is equine veterinary care that is necessary in order for horses to perform well. As a horse is cared and looked after, a horse can achieve success on a racetrack. Furthermore, a horse can provide onlookers with inspiration as they cheer a specific one on to victory. Although the race is brief, watching horses race is an experience that is not easily forgotten.

Whether a horse is at a county fair or racing competitors, people love to see horses. Movies, books and other material on the Internet are available for people to learn more and experience fantastic horses. After all, a horse is not a thing. A horse is a majestic animal that many appreciate.

Caring For Your AC: Why Scheduling Maintenance Is Important

Caring for your A/C: Why Scheduling Air Conditioning Maintenance is Important

When thinking about home maintenance, most consumers overlook their air conditioners, which can lead to serious and expensive problems. After all, who actual thinks about scheduling a regular checkup for their air conditioning system? The truth is, an air conditioner that is not properly maintained will experience a slew of problems that could have been prevented with proper care. Scheduling annual maintenance with air conditioning contractors Clearwater FL will provide you and your A/C with various benefits.

Increase Energy Efficiency
Dust, dander and debris build up, old parts that need replacing and not enough lubrication can all reduce the air conditioner’s energy efficiency. And an A/C that isn’t running at its full efficiency level will increase your energy costs. Regular checkups will help ensure the A/C unit is running at maximum efficiency and lower your energy bills.

Prolong Lifespan
Regular prevent maintenance helps to prolong the lifespan of the air conditioning system. The typical lifespan of an air conditioning unit is up to 15 years. When the unit is properly maintained, you increase the chance of the A/C meeting and often exceeding the lifespan expectation.

Air Quality
Your indoor air quality is extremely important, and a poorly maintained A/C will reduce the quality of the air, which negatively impacts your family’s health and wellbeing. Allergens, such as mold, can build up inside the unit and dirty filter do nothing but reintroduce the microscopic contaminates back into your home. During the checkup, drip trays, air filter, dirt and condensation are all checked and cleaned by a qualified HVAC technician.

Reduction in Potential Problems
With regular preventive maintenance, the technician is typically able to catch and correct small issues before a major and more expensive problem occurs. While this may not seem like a big deal at the moment, you will regret not taking preventive measures when you’re faced with hundreds of dollars in repair bills.

Sleep More Soundly at Night
When your air conditioning system is functioning properly, you can rest easy knowing that the unit is functioning safely. A malfunctioning A/C could lead to dangerous safety issues in your home. When you have your air conditioner serviced regularly by a trusted professional, they will be able to take care of any safety issues before they result in a major and potentially dangerous hazard.

Freedom Mentor Review

Have you ever considered being a real estate investor? To be honest, even though I have a friend who has done some real estate investing, it's never really crossed my mind as something I could do. But, when I was given the opportunity to read and review How To Be A Real Estate Investor by Phil Pustejovsky, I thought it would be interesting, and some good information.

You may be thinking, "How could I ever get involved in something like real estate investing? I'd never be able to do that!" If that's your thought, or if you're interested in finding out how to get started, or maybe even WHY you'd want to get started in real estate investing, this is a book you'll want to read.

I found this book to be a rather interesting read. The author starts out by discussing why be a real estate investor, and then a chapter on how to think like an investor. This chapter is a great inclusion, because knowing how to do something doesn't always mean you'll excel at it. As the author states, "Having all the knowledge on how to invest will be worthless unless you have your head on straight." As a martial artist, the mental aspect of something is always a focal point for me. I like that you're not just given instructions on how to get started investing, but it delves deeper into the mindset needed. At the end of this chapter is also a link to an investor IQ exam, so you can gauge how well you think like an investor!

Overall, the author seems to cover (at least briefly) most aspects of real estate investing, at least enough to get someone started. He points out pitfalls and things to avoid, what to look for in a property, and basically summarizes the world of real estate investing. Throughout the book you will find "real world examples", and also "wisdom keys", that cover an especially important issue. This book is great to get a beginner or "wannabe" investor started. Yes, there were some terms used I wasn't familiar with, but these were explained clearly enough that I got a grasp of what was being discussed.

The author, Phil Pustejovsky
In closing, let me share a quote from Andrew Carnegie, found in the first chapter of this book: "90% of all millionaires become so through owning real estate." Wow! If that doesn't catch your attention and make you at least consider real estate investing, I don't know what else would!

I received a copy of this book free of charge to facilitate the review.  This post was created in partnership with Mom Buzz Media and all views and opinions expressed above are my own.

Outdoor Fun With Pacific Play Tent Set! #Giveaway

Who is enjoying this beautiful weather?! The past few weeks have been a mixture of rain, cold fronts, and 60-70 degree days, but it finally seems to be turning into a beautiful, warms spring; perfect for outdoor fun for youngsters and adults. I am loving being able to get back outside for running and biking, instead of being stuck indoors on a treadmill-just not the same thing at all, but unfortunately necessary over the winter. And of course the children are enjoying being able to get outside again for sports, play time, and just sitting in the backyard.

I was recently able to give them a new addition for outdoor play; a set from Pacific Play Tents that includes a tent, sleeping bag, and chair; all in a very fun, girly pink/purple camo color! Obviously these are not full-size pieces; they're designed for children 36 months to about 7 or 8 years old. That doesn't stop it from being fun for play though! It would also be great for a sleepover, but we haven't done that yet; the ground is still too wet outside! At the end of this month we have some dear friends coming in from out of state, including a little girl that, to be honest, our entire family-even the adults-loves having around. She will be thrilled to have a chance to play with the new camping set in our backyard with our girls!

The tent was very easy to set up; literally in one minute we had it done. If only our camping trips had always been that easy! It's a nice size for a youngster, I'd guess up to about a normal-size 5 or 6 year old could sleep comfortably inside; if they're on the small side, maybe up to 8 years.

The sleeping bag is definitely large enough for an 8 year old; in fact, once they outgrow the tent, they could easily use this sleeping bag up to probably 10 years old, on family camping trips, etc. Nice and cozy, but not too heavy for summer camp-outs.

The chair is adorable; perfect for your little girl, and even has a cup holder "just like Mommy's"! While we were getting the tent set up out back, Pansy (one of our Shelties) decided to check it out for herself. Doesn't she look like she owns it?!

Pacific Play has so many more great items just perfect for outdoor fun this spring and summer. You can even get the camping set like I reviewed in a different color for your little boy! And one of my readers will receive a $50.00 gift card to Pacific Play Tents so you can pick out an item of your choice!!

CanvasPop Canvas Print Review and #Giveaway!!

Photos are a wonderful way to keep great memories alive. Sometimes I'll sit down and look through old pictures on my computer, from the past 10-12 years, and enjoy remembering some of the great times our family has had. I like to have another way to enjoy those really special memories though; a framed print, or a canvas print are my two favorites-and if I had to choose one of those, it would be a canvas print. Canvas just seems to bring the picture to life, and it's so much nicer than a regular print.

CanvasPop contacted me recently about reviewing one of their canvas prints, and I was excited to have this opportunity. I emailed them a picture from one of our family photo shoots, of my younger sisters and myself. This was such a great picture that all 3 of us loved when we saw it, so of course we were thrilled to be able to have it put on a canvas. It literally took 6 days from the time I sent CanvasPop my picture, to the day it arrived at our house. Now that's fast service!!

I was notified that the picture had needed cropped a little to fit the 16x20 canvas, but they assured me it did not detract from the picture at all, all the important aspects were still in the picture, etc. Sure enough, when I opened the package, I discovered that it looked amazing! The colors are so vibrant that you feel as if you're standing out on the bridge in the crisp fall breeze. Honestly, the clarity and brightness of the canvas is incredible. My camera actually dulls the brilliance, so unfortunately you can't see for yourself-unless you order your own CanvasPop canvas print of course, which you can do with a 35% discount using this code at checkout: HOPESCAFE35!! (Minus the exclamation points :)

Comes with everything you need to hang!
After my experience, I would highly recommend CanvasPop for anyone who has a special memory (or memories; they also do collage canvas prints) they want to hang on their wall!

CanvasPop is giving one of my readers a custom 16x20 Canvas Print!!!

Happy and Hungry Booster Seat from Creative Baby!! #VeryHungryCaterpillar

What youngster hasn't enjoyed the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar? This picture book is a very familiar sight to children and parents alike, so here's a product that is sure to please them both as well!

I received the Happy and Hungry Booster Seat for review recently. This is a piece from The World of Eric Carle line, through Creative Baby. The bright colors on this booster seat are sure to keep your little one happy even if they are hungry! There are quite a few features that I love about this seat, so I'll just detail them below.

1. The space-saving, portability aspect. This booster seat is perfect for on-the-go, or for anyone who wants to be able to store the seat somewhere when not in use. The back folds down into the seat, and the removable tray snaps in underneath the seat, and it has a handle, which all makes for a very handy, very easy to carry, booster seat. It's lightweight, and great to bring on road trips, vacations, or to Grandma's house when she's babysitting!

2. The adjustable sizing. With 2 reclining positions, 3 tray positions, and 2 height positions, you can adjust this seat to the perfect fit for your little one! Or, if they're ready to start eating at the "big table", you can remove the tray completely. Suggested use is for 6 months to 5 years, or up to 50 pounds, and with all the position variations, that's easy to see!

3. The safety features. Yes, you would think that any and all booster seats come with safety features such as a belt or harness, but sadly they don't. This Happy and Hungry Booster Seat, however, comes with a 3-point harness, and chair straps! This way your child can't slip out of the seat, and the seat can't slip out of the chair!

4. The child-friendly design. With the nice cushiony seat pad, and the bright, fun colors, this booster seat is both fun and comfy for your little one to enjoy. The seat itself is a fun green color, and the seat pad is straight from the pages of The Very Hungry Caterpillar!

All in all, I'm impressed with the Happy and Hungry Booster Seat. It's portable, it's safe, it's adjustable, it's fun, and to top it off, it's very budget-friendly, at under $30.00! Before you go rushing out to buy one though, please note that these are only available online through Burlington Coat Factory. You won't find them in your local store, just order online and it will be delivered to your door!
