Fun Fitness With Mindy Mylrea #Giveaway

As a martial artist, one thing I have trouble with is finding time to get in some workouts that aren't martial arts-related. Obviously I get plenty of cardio in with my TaeKwonDo, but I also like to work different muscles, work in some strength training, etc. Often I just don't have time for a 45 minute exercise program though, with all the other responsibilities and TKD practice I have to fit in. So when I heard about Mindy Mylrea's fitness dvds, I was thrilled! See, Mindy specializes in Tabata, which is basically a form of high-intensity interval training.

I received 2 of Mindy Mylrea's dvds for review; Intensity Overload: No Equipment Required, and Tabata With Toys. I tried out the Intensity Overload first. I like that you don't need any extra tools (or toys) with this one. The dvd has 6 workouts, which are right around 10 minutes each. The workouts are INTENSE! However, because they're only 10 minutes long, I can be sure to get 3-4 of them every week. I may not be able to fit in 45 minutes of exercise, but I can easily get in 10 minutes a few days a week. And I don't feel like I'm losing the benefits of a longer workout; research has shown that shorter, more intense workouts provide better strength and fitness benefits than longer, steady-state workouts!

The Tabata With Toys dvd is a lot of fun as well. There are 18 workouts on this disc, with options for body-weight-only, gliding discs, balls, and various other "toys". Each of these workouts is only 4 minutes long, so I can get 2 or 3 done in one day! I haven't tried all of them yet, but quite a few both with and without toys, and at this point, my favorite is the 30-30 Core. This is somewhat different from the average HIIT workout, because you work really hard for 30 seconds, and then boost the effort for the next 30 seconds. This is one tough workout, but it feels so good! I love how it not only works your core, but also gives your arms a great workout.

Mindy generously sent me another set of these dvds for a giveaway for my readers!!

One of my readers will receive Tabata With Toys and Intensity Overload: No Equipment Required!!

The Honest Kitchen Pet Food #Giveaway

Many of you will probably remember The Honest Kitchen from our Petacular event a few months ago. That was my first introduction to this company, but let me tell you-Glory loves their products! The Honest Kitchen recently redesigned their packaging, and I received a crate of goodies, including a 2lb. box of Force Dog Food in the new package.

Glory really isn't a picky eater. Up until a few days ago, I thought she would eat anything-however, she refused a pickle slice that fell on the floor on Friday. She's also very generous with her food, and will allow our other Shelties to eat out of her bowl with her. The one exception to her generous nature is when she has Honest Kitchen's Force dog food! Seriously, she will defend her bowl of Force from the other dogs, and actually licks the bowl clean. Yes, her bowl looks brand new once she gets through with it-no joking. If you don't believe me, take a look.

While Glory loves the taste, I love feeding her a natural dog food. It's gluten-free, and is made with free range chicken, and fresh vegetables.

The crate also contained some other Honest Kitchen products; a Made Out of Love Recipe Book, Perfect Form; a digestive supplement, and some literature about why THK pet foods are better for your beloved pet. The Perfect Form is so easy to add in to Glory's food; just mix the specified amount with a tiny bit of water and stir to make a paste. Then mix it in with her food, and voila! Perfect Form supports proper digestion and the intestinal health of both dogs and cats.

Now, if you want a chance to try THK's awesome foods for yourself (or rather for your pet :) here's a great opportunity! The Honest Kitchen is giving a 2lb. box of Force (for dogs) or Prowl (for cats) to one of my readers!!

Adorable Children's Shoes from Attipas!

I mentioned to my sister the other day that children's shoes are so much cuter than "grown-up" shoes. Of course, she responded by asking if would actually wear most children's styles of shoes, and equally of course-my answer was probably not. However, I love shopping for clothing, shoes, and just about anything else for babies and toddlers. Whether it's a family member or a friend's child, I love checking out all the adorable styles for youngsters. During one of these "shopping sprees", I came upon Attipas Kids, a company that sells shoes for babies and toddlers.

The first thing I noticed was of course the cute design. When you see the shoes, you'll agree-how can you not love them? However, there is much more to love about Attipas shoes! I received a pair of the Blue Sneakers for review.

These "sneakers" feature a flexible, breathable sole. This means the shoe conforms to your child's feet, and the perforated sole allows their feet to breathe, releasing moisture and heat. Perfect for the upcoming summer months, when children of all ages will be enjoying the outdoors!

I also like the extra room in the toe area; this may seem a little funny, but it gives your toddler some room to wiggle (and we all know how much children wiggle!).

The neatest part about Attipas shoes though, is the upper material. It's like wearing socks with a rubber sole. No uncomfortable or tight feeling, instead the sole is attached to a super lightweight sock-type material! How genius is that?! The shoes are completely machine washable, so you don't have to worry about spot cleaning, or "How do I clean the upper part of the shoe?" Honestly, I think these are some of the cutest and smartest baby/toddler shoes I've seen!

Attipas has quite a few different styles for boys and girls, as well as some neutral, in various colors. Their shoes range in size from 9 months to 2-1/2 years, so if you have a youngster in your life-get them a pair of Attipas shoes!

Attipas is giving a pair of Sneakers (winner's choice of size and color, based on availability) to one of my readers!!

Attipas is trying to boost their Facebook "likes", so let's help them out. I'm doubling the entries for that-you'll get 4 bonus entries for liking the Attipas Facebook page!

Summer Fun With HABA! #Giveaway

Well, we've had a wonderful week or so of gorgeous warm weather-if you discount the storms that swept through the area at the beginning of the week. The past couple days it's been a little cooler, but I think we're pretty much done with the winter flashes- at least I hope so! I am so ready for summer, and all the fun and sun that comes with it. I know the children are ready to be out of school and enjoy the outdoors as well. And when it does really heat up around here, I have a fun way for the kids to cool off!

HABA recently released some new products, and I was able to choose a couple for review. I received the Water Party Silicone Ice Cube Tray, and the Safari and Princess Silicone Cupcake Molds. I love silicone bakeware, so I was thrilled about the chance to review these. The funny thing is, their first use was for Hawaiian Punch ice cubes, not cupcakes!

The kids enjoy making a punch that's half Sprite, and half Hawaiian Punch. However, we decided to twist it up a little, and make fun shaped ice cubes with the punch, and add it to the soda for an ice-cold drink. The girls had so much fun with this! We made two trays of the Water Party and Safari shapes, and used them for a party the next day. Filling the trays was easy, but I did have to oversee the transferring from countertop to freezer, so they didn't spill.

The next afternoon, we poured Sprite into a punch bowl, and added the punch ice cubes. Everyone (yes, even the adults) had fun fishing out the cubes with the ladle to make sure they had a nice, cold drink!

I love these silicone molds from HABA, and whether you're planning a themed party for your child's birthday, or just want a fun way to spice up your drinks this summer, these are definitely a great addition to any kitchen!

HABA is offering one of our readers their choice of: 1. The set of products I received for review, or 2. a set of HABA products that At The Fence reviewed. (You can check out her review here to see your choice!)

My Pair Tree Flip Flop Holder #Giveaway

I could so use these products! Especially the Pack It and Stack It; I usually pack way more clothes than I need for a trip, and end up stuffing my suitcase. This would be such a help with that! Let's see what PI Of Products discovered...

How is everyone doing?  This morning we had TKD class (we are starting to prep for Tournament) and then a couple of people came and picked up their puppies.  This afternoon I am investigating two very keen products from My Pair Tree

logo

The first, a My Pair Tree Flip-Flop Holder.  This is really nice, and great for anybody/family that has a lot of flip-flops, sandals, etc.  With having five girls in the family (and one that wears sandals, a lot) we have quite a few pairs of sandals and such.

Is that neat or what?!?

The My Pair Tree is meant to hold up to 6 pairs of flip flops.  There are all sorts of different designs/prints to choose from on the website, I'm sure you will be able to find one you like!

I hung it near our back door!

The second product, is the Pack It & Stack It.  This is going to be a favorite of mine for while traveling, I can tell all ready!  The Pack It & Stack It is a space saving travel bag.  You place your clothing inside the bag, slide your zipper clip (included) across the top to close it, and then flatten the bag by squeezing out the extra air.

What makes this different from other "space saving bags"?  I'll tell you why - There is no vacuum needed, just squeeze!  It reusable, just save and use again and again!  There is a double seal closure with a zipper clip, no more fighting to make sure you actually zipped it shut!

And after...  Look at the difference!

These products are well worth purchasing.  I have a feeling my sister is going to try and steal my Pack It & Stack Its!  You can either try and win a My Pair Tree Flip-Flop holder here, or if you just can't wait that long you can purchase both the flip-flop holder and the Pack-It & Stack It on the My Pair Tree website.

Super Duper Games to Avoid Summer Slide! #Giveaway

I don't know about you, but I am looking forward to summer this year, even more than normal. Blame it on the extended, bitterly cold winter we had, but I am so excited about being able to get outside and enjoy the weather, participate in various sports and activities, and just have fun! I know the kids are feeling the same way; they can't wait for summer to arrive, so they can be done with school for a while, and play outside for as long as they want. Of course, every parent worries about their children forgetting what they learned in the previous school session; the so-called "Summer Slide". It seems like the first couple weeks of getting back to school in the fall, is spent reviewing and re-learning what the children forgot! And that is why I am so excited to bring you a fun way of helping your children avoid the summer slide!

Super Duper Publications is a company that specializes in educational games and toys. If you've followed my blog for any length of time, then you have heard of Super Duper, because I have shared some of their products here before. This time I was able to choose a game for review, and I received the Grammar Chipper Chat.

Grammar Chipper Chat is designed to help youngsters study and learn about grammatical structures (16 of the most common). The best part is that they're having fun while learning! The game turns it into a safari exploration, with 60 different game board scenes, and an exploration theme throughout. To play, children choose a game board, and reads (or listens to) a question from one of the cards. If the child has difficulty, you can show them the opposite side of the card, which gives a picture "hint". If the child answers the question correctly, they roll the die, and place that amount of chips on their game board. The first player to cover all the circles on their game board with chips, wins! Even the clean-up is fun with this game though; children use the magnetic wand to pick up their chips!

Grammar Chipper Chat is suggested for children ages 5 and up, grades K through 5. This seems appropriate, although a 5 year old might need a little extra help. I love the fun way that children can learn about grammar with a simple game. It's the perfect way to keep your child's mind working over the summer months, so they're still learning and thinking, instead of completely losing any thoughts of educational experience while on break. Grammar Chipper Chat isn't the only game like this either; be sure to check out Super Duper Publications for a wide variety of educational games and toys you can use with your children this summer!

One of our readers will receive a game from Super Duper Publications!!

Safe Internet Browsing with TunnelBear

As most of you probably know, I do a lot of traveling. Whether it's overnight trips on the weekend, or longer trips where I'm gone for 2-4 weeks, I am often on-the-go. As a blogger, I also need to be online quite a bit even while on vacation, so of course I bring my MacBook and iPod on all these trips, so I can get my business done. This means connecting through public places,, be it a Starbucks (often my first choice, so I can sip a Frappuccino at the same time), McDonald's, hotel room, or one of a million other public internet access points. Since upgrading to a MacBook a few years ago, I haven't had any real problems, but back when I used a PC, I ran into quite a few issues. And, of course, even though the MacBook does offer better protection, I still worry about possible viruses and malware.

So, when I heard about an app (yes, there's an app for everything!) that allows you to browse the web safely, even from a public connection, I was intrigued. Does it really work? How does it work? Does it work on the platforms I have? How much will this cost me? Let me share the answers to these questions with you, and you will see why I think TunnelBear is such a great app!

1. I installed TunnelBear on my MacBook and checked it out. While I haven't been on any trips in the past couple weeks to test it out "in the field", I have used it at home just to get a feel for it. I did check some reviews from tech sites, and found that they were quite pleased with the security that TunnelBear provides. TunnelBear uses a minimum of 128-bit AES encryption, to ensure that your information remains just that-your information.

2. TunnelBear is easy to use; after installation, you create (or sign in to) an account. You basically connect to the internet through TunnelBear, and browse on your regular browser-no need to use a special browser. The TunnelBear sits in your menu bar, and you can turn it on and off as desired. Using TunnelBear allows you to give your computer an IP address from the UK or US, and makes your browsing basically anonymous. No more worries about trackers!

3. Yes, TunnelBear works with MacBooks, as well as with Windows, iPhone/iPad, and Android devices.

4. TunnelBear is surprisingly very low-cost! You can use the free "Little TunnelBear", which offers 500MBs of data. Or, if you're looking for something with more data, you can opt to pay by month (the Giant, for $4.99 a month), or by year (the Grizzly, for only $49.99 per year). The Giant and Grizzly both offer unlimited use, and, if you purchase for your PC or Mac, also gives you free unlimited use on 2 mobile devices.

I'd say you can't beat the service or the pricing of TunnelBear!!

Cool Feet This Summer with Kushyfoot!

How many of you have worn foot covers? I had actually never heard of them before finding them on Kushyfoot, and I wasn't quite sure how I would like them. I was excited to get a chance to try them out though; I received a package containing some of the new Spring 2014 products from Kushyfoot for review.

My package contained a Sheer Anklet, Sport Foot Cover, Extreme Low Cut Foot Cover, and Ultra Low Cut Foot Cover. For those who aren't familiar with foot covers (or am I the only person behind the times here!?), they are super-low cut "socks". They are perfect for wearing when you don't want your socks to show. For example, M and I like wearing them with our martial arts shoes during Taekwondo, so we don't have socks peering out above our shoes. These are perfect for that!

For women who aren't involved in martial arts though, the foot covers are great for anywhere and everywhere wear. Whether it's a cute pair of sneakers, casual flats for running around town, or even a pair of dressy pumps, these foot covers are incredible. I love how Kushyfoot provides an extra touch of comfort with the padded sole at the ball of your foot. This is incredibly comfortable! And, in case you think the foot covers will just slip off because they're so low-cut-don't worry, they have a heel grip that keeps the cover on.

I also love the sheer anklet; these have become my go-to for wearing with dress flats. The zig-zag sole provides a nice cushioning effect, to keep your feet happy and comfortable all day.

Visit Kushyfoot today and check out all their great footwear products. From foot covers to socks, slippers and the popular flats-to-go, you will be sure to enjoy each and every piece!
