Well, we've had a wonderful week or so of gorgeous warm weather-if you discount the storms that swept through the area at the beginning of the week. The past couple days it's been a little cooler, but I think we're pretty much done with the winter flashes- at least I hope so! I am so ready for summer, and all the fun and sun that comes with it. I know the children are ready to be out of school and enjoy the outdoors as well. And when it does really heat up around here, I have a fun way for the kids to cool off!
HABA recently released some new products, and I was able to choose a couple for review. I received the Water Party Silicone Ice Cube Tray, and the Safari and Princess Silicone Cupcake Molds. I love silicone bakeware, so I was thrilled about the chance to review these. The funny thing is, their first use was for Hawaiian Punch ice cubes, not cupcakes!
The kids enjoy making a punch that's half Sprite, and half Hawaiian Punch. However, we decided to twist it up a little, and make fun shaped ice cubes with the punch, and add it to the soda for an ice-cold drink. The girls had so much fun with this! We made two trays of the Water Party and Safari shapes, and used them for a party the next day. Filling the trays was easy, but I did have to oversee the transferring from countertop to freezer, so they didn't spill.
The next afternoon, we poured Sprite into a punch bowl, and added the punch ice cubes. Everyone (yes, even the adults) had fun fishing out the cubes with the ladle to make sure they had a nice, cold drink!
I love these silicone molds from HABA, and whether you're planning a themed party for your child's birthday, or just want a fun way to spice up your drinks this summer, these are definitely a great addition to any kitchen!
HABA is offering one of our readers their choice of: 1. The set of products I received for review, or 2. a set of HABA products that At The Fence reviewed. (You can check out her review here to see your choice!)
