How To Prevent Expensive Drain Cleaning Bills

Have you ever dealt with a clogged drain? A clogged drain can be frustrating, especially if the drain continues to get clogged every few months. What can you do to prevent this from occurring? It is important to hire a quality Salt Lake drain cleaning company to help you deal with clogged drains. Here are some tips you can follow to prevent future problems with clogged drains.

Be Mindful
When you are cooking in the kitchen, be mindful of what you are tossing down the drain. It is tempting to let egg shells, pasta noodles, fruit, and bacon grease go down the drain. The problem with allowing too many things to go down the drain is how quickly these things can clog the drain. You need to be mindful of what you send down the drains. This same method goes with your bathrooms. Don’t allow hair to go down the drain, and instead have the hair gathered in a drain strainer to prevent the hair from clogging your drain. You need to be mindful of how much toilet paper you use and flush down the toilet. Teach your children the importance of using the right amount of toilet paper when using the toilet, and make sure they do not flush toys and other things down the toilet.

Routine Repairs
You need to start cleaning the sinks, faucets, and shower heads to allow water to freely flow through them. Unscrew the shower heads and soak them overnight in a bowl of vinegar. The vinegar will eat away at the lime and calcium buildup. It will help to keep the water from spraying in random directions. This can help you to take shorter showers, allowing you to conserve water.

Clean the Drains
Get into the habit of cleaning the drains in your home at least once a month. Use baking soda and vinegar to do a quick clean of the drains. The vinegar and baking soda mixture will remove soap scum, grease, and other things from the walls of the pipes. This will help them to allow water and waste to flow through properly. Contact a plumber for professional Salt Lake drain cleaning services to prevent serious blockages from occurring.
