This year has literally just flown by. I feel like we just started dating things 2013, and now it's almost November! I mean, in less than 2 weeks we will be changing our clocks back. Recently I was asked to share some very important safety news from Energizer, and I am pleased to have this opportunity.
For 26 years now, Energizer has been working in conjunction with the International Association of Fire Chiefs, and fire departments worldwide, to encourage families to Change Your Clock, Change Your Batteries. What batteries? you ask. The batteries in your smoke alarm, of course! Did you know that 38% of fatal fire injuries occur in homes without any smoke alarms, and 24% of fatal fire injuries occur in homes with at least one smoke alarm, but fails to operate due to missing or dead batteries. So from now on, when you change your clock back-make sure to change the batteries in all your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors!
To help promote fire safety, Energizer sent me a Family Safety Kit, which included a Kiddie Battery-Operated Carbon Monoxide/Smoke Detector, 16-pack of AA Batteries, 9-volt Battery, and a Weatheready LED Safety Flashlight. We will be replacing our old smoke alarm this week with the new combo smoke and carbon monoxide detector. This is very easy to install, and I love the dual protection. With this piece, we will be warned of smoke, and/or the presence of carbon monoxide. The LED Flashlight is another handy safety tool, and I like the area for writing important emergency/safety information for the family.
Energizer is also offering a Family Safety Kit to one of my readers, so be sure to enter this giveaway. Most importantly though, be sure that when you change your clock back in a couple weeks-you change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors! You can also enter the Change Your Clock Change Your Battery giveaway on Energizer's Facebook page. They are giving away a Family Safety Kit valued at over $150.00, every day until November 2!
One of my readers will receive an Energizer Family Safety Kit!!
