Update on My Experience With The BodyMedia Armband!

A few weeks ago I shared the exciting news that I had received a BodyMedia FIT Armband for review. Well, after the past 2-3 weeks of use, let me tell you-this is a must-have item for anyone who takes good health serious! Whether you want to lose weight or maintain your current weight, if you're a serious health nut, or you want some motivation to get serious about it-the BodyMedia FIT Armband is just what you need.

I have been wearing my Core Armband daily for the past few weeks. When I get up in the morning I immediately reach for the band, and it only comes off for my shower (no, it's not waterproof) and at bedtime. The band can actually be worn at night time as well, as it tracks your sleeping time, but since I sleep on my side a lot, I imagine it would be a little uncomfortable. During the day though, it is so easy-wearing that I honesty forget it's there most of the time!

Can't even tell I have something up my sleeve :)

Anyways, I was able to set up the band to fit my goals. That would be 1 hour of moderate exercise and 30 minutes of vigorous exercise daily, a total of 10,000 steps, 2100 calories consumed daily, and 2800 calories burned daily. I love how the system takes your height, weight, activity level and age into account, and then gives you several different plans to reach your goal weight. I chose one with more exercise, since I have no problem incorporating more activity into my daily life. In fact, since wearing the band, I have noticed my activity increasing to the point that many times, I exceed the exercise and steps-taken goal level! Especially on days with TaeKwonDo class, I end up taking 15,000 steps and spend over 3 hours exercising. This has definitely made me more aware of my need to exercise though, and on days that I haven't reached my step or exercise goal, I usually head out for a 2-3 mile walk.

The armband gets charged by attaching to your computer via USB cable, which I really like-no need to keep replacing batteries! A full charge lasts a couple weeks easily, although I usually sync mine every night, which gives it a small charge as well. I enjoy keeping track of my goals, and usually sync at the end of the day, right before bed. I have also downloaded the BodyMedia app for my tablet, which allows me to track not only my exercise and steps taken, but also record all meals and snacks I eat during the day. This way I can have all my fitness info right at my fingertips in one place-instead of diet in one journal, exercise in another.
Pops out of the armband to connect for charging/syncing!

As I mentioned earlier, I seriously recommend the BodyMedia Armband to anyone who is serious, or wants to get serious about their health. It will motivate you like nothing I've ever seen, and is the best and easiest way I know of to track your health and fitness!!
