Did you know that June is National Iced Tea Month? I didn't find out until a few weeks ago, but let me tell you-any excuse to enjoy some sweet iced tea, is good for me! Honestly, I am a southern girl all the way (even if I do live in the midwest now) and that includes sweet tea as a staple of daily life. I love sweet tea! So, when Red Rose Tea offered to send me some of their new flavors in honor of National Iced Tea Month, I was thrilled!
I received Peach Cobbler and Lemon Chiffon teas from Red Rose for my review. These come in boxes of 20 tea bags, so you can brew a single cup to enjoy, or make a pitcher for the entire family. I was pretty sure the Lemon Chiffon would be a hit with the family, so I made a half-gallon of this flavor. This is such a delightful flavor; the very epitome of summer goodness! It has a very bold lemon flavor, with a little added sweetness that you don't find when adding lemon wedges to your tea. Very rich, and very good! Perfect to go along with a bar-b-que meal, or as a cool afternoon treat.
The Peach Chiffon I saved for myself and E; we're typically the only people in our family who enjoy peach tea. This was very unique, and I must admit, I quite enjoy this flavor as well. Again, a little more sweetness and richness than just adding flavored syrup to a glass of iced tea. I prefer this one iced as well (especially in the summer) but I also found it very tasty served warm in the morning or evening. I'm not big on hot drinks-I even prefer my coffee iced-but on occasion, I enjoy a cup of hot tea. This is certainly the tea I'll be reaching for when that mood strikes!
