Before I start this review, let me mention that I am not the kind of girl who spends a lot of time on her hands. In fact, I very rarely wear nail polish, practically never get a manicure, and really don't waste much time on them. I just don't have the time to waste sitting there and carefully applying 2 coats of nail polish (and possibly a coat of lacquer to keep it on longer), and I don't have the money it would cost to go the salon on a regular basis for a manicure. However, when I heard about a way to get a professional-looking gel manicure at home, in less time than I thought possible, I was intrigued. So you can imagine how excited I was when Haute Polish sent me their Haute Polish Kit for review!
The Haute Polish Kit comes with the LED Talking Smart Setting Light, Classic Red Polish, Remover Pockets, Detailing Wands, Cleaner/Finisher Wipes, and Nail Buffer. The steps to getting beautiful salon-style nails at home are very simple. First, use the nail buffer to buff the top of your nails, and push back the cuticles. Then use a cleaner/finisher wipe to remove any dust and oil. Next, apply the Haute Polish shade of your choice (in my case, the classic red) and then place your fingertips under the LED light. This talks you through the process, and basically in less than 60 seconds, your polish is dried, set, and ready to go.
I did my thumbs separately, as trying to fit the thumb in with the other fingers was a little awkward. No big deal though; I still had both hands done in much less time than I ever did with traditional polish! Honestly, I was so amazed at how good my nails looked!
I was a little skeptical as to how long the polish would last. While Haute claims it lasts up to 2 weeks, often these things are overrated. However, even with me washing dishes, doing some cleaning/scrubbing in the house, and typical everyday wear, the polish did indeed last well over a week. Success! I can now get a salon-style gel manicure at home, at much less cost, and in 10 minutes or less! You just can't beat that!!
