Pizza is one of our family's favorite meals. Whether it's homemade, frozen, store-bought, or picked up at our local pizza shop-we love just about any pizza! It's probably our most common meal for our "family nights" which include games, snacks, and just family fun. So, when I received a super gift pack from MyBlogSpark and Pillsbury, I knew we had a winner for last week's family night!
My package included a 15.5" Farberware Pizza Pan, Food Chopper with Storage Containers, Silicon-grip Oven Mitt, and VIP coupon for a free Pillsbury Artisan Refrigerated Pizza Crust. I went shopping the very next day, and picked up all the goodies we'd need for a delicious homemade pizza! I chose the Whole Grain crust, and purchased some Canadian bacon (ever wondered what Canadians call Canadian bacon? Do they just call it bacon?), pineapple, pizza sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Oh, and some olives for a kind of picky person who wanted olives on "her part" of the pizza!
A couple of the children got involved with the pizza making. I love how easy it was to pop open the can and roll out our crust on the new pizza pan. It's a great way to get homemade pizza, with the toppings you want, a little bit faster and easier than making your own dough-although we have done that before too! The crust is great also in that you can make it to your desired thickness. You bake the crust for 6-7 minutes, pull it out and add your toppings. Then it's back in the oven for 8-10 minutes, until the crust is lightly browned and the cheese is melted. Of course, if you prefer a crispier crust, you can leave it in longer. Everyone was impatient even for the 20 minutes it took to make, bake and slice the pizza! Once it was ready we sat down for our meal, and it didn't take long for that huge pizza to get demolished! It was definitely a hit, and something we will be using again for our family pizza
