Relaxing at Country Inn and Suites

Wow, rarely do you walk into a hotel, and feel like you're coming home! Such was the case, however, when we checked into the Country Inn and Suites by Carlson, in Bradenton, FL. We stayed for 2 nights, and thoroughly enjoyed the entire weekend there.

Our room featured 2 queen beds, a large desk, 32" LCD TV, coffeemaker and coffee, microwave and refrigerator, and a very large, spacious bathroom with a full tub/shower. Plenty of room for our entire family, even with all the luggage we pack!

One thing I noticed right away, was the abundance of electrical outlets. If you stay in hotels any amount of time, then I'm sure you're familiar with the frustration of pulling out a couple electronics, only to find that you only have 1 or 2 empty outlets. Not enough to charge your laptop, cellphone, iPod and any other accessories. The Country Inn and Suites in Bradenton, though, has plenty of outlets, including some on the desk-top for easy access.

Saturday morning, I headed down for breakfast and was very pleased with all the tasty choices. It's not your basic breakfast, as they offer a variety of pastries, cereals, juices, milk and several hot items. Sausage, eggs, bacon, warm biscuits and gravy...enough to actually eat a filling breakfast! After breakfast I met with Tom, the Assistant GM to gather some information about the hotel for my article. Tom graciously offered details about what makes Country Inn and Suites so unique, compared to other hotels in Bradenton. Here are just a few things that he mentioned, or that I noticed myself.

  • Complimentary Full Hot Breakfast Buffet
  • Complimentary Hot Tea and Coffee served all day in the lobby
  • Outdoor Heated Swimming Pool
  • State-of-the-art Fitness Center
  • Complimentary Full-Guest Privileges at a nearby fitness center, which includes racquetball courts, 300 pieces of cardio equipment, whirlpool and sauna, etc.

Any hotel that offers Earl Grey tea has got to be good!

And in the room, amenities include:

  • Serta Elite mattresses and down pillows and comforters-these are super comfortable!
  • Microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker in every room
  • 32 inch LCD HDTVs
  • Large desk with an ergonomic chair
  • Granite counter tops

Something I have never seen at any other hotel, and that I thought added a nice touch, is the lending library. That's right, Country Inns and Suites offer a complimentary Read It and Return It Library for guests! And if you don't finish the book before checking out of the hotel, you can bring it with you, and return it to any other Country Inns and Suites location!

Honestly, if/when I am ever back in the Bradenton area, I will certainly be staying at the Country Inns and Suites, because our stay there was made more enjoyable by the friendly staff, home-y atmosphere, and wonderful location. Speaking of location, I have to mention that this hotel, unlike many in the area, is located within walking distance to 15 restaurants, 2 department stores, a grocery store, and 3 shopping plazas. I walked to dinner one evening, and to the grocery store one afternoon during our visit; each of these were literally just a 3-4 minute walk! Very much appreciated the location, especially after being at a hotel (in a different city) that had nothing within walking distance, and even driving took 10 minutes to reach a restaurant or grocery store. So like I said, you can't beat the Country Inns and Suites in Bradenton, FL!
