I finally found someone who does curly right!! Seriously, I have spent several years trying to find those "just right" products that would give great results consistently. It seemed that I would find a hair styling product that worked pretty good, only to have my hair return to the normal dry, frizzy look after a few weeks of use. Well, I am thankful to say that is no longer the case, and I am now a staunch fan of Jessicurl!!
I received the Rich and Radiant Collection from Jessicurl, which includes 6 products; Hair Cleansing Cream, Too Shea! Conditioner, Confident Coils Styling Solution, Rockin' Ringlets Styling Potion, Deep Conditioning Treatment, and Awe Inspiring Curls Spray.
First of all, this was my first experience with a cleansing cream-I have always used shampoo, although I have heard of other options. So, I was a little skeptical as to how it would really work. Don't get me wrong, my hair needs moisture, but at the same point I want to be sure that it is really clean when I wash it! It doesn't give you a huge lather, but when I got out of the shower, my hair was clean. Even my scalp felt clean, but not dried out like even the most moisturizing shampoos do. I could literally only use conditioner a couple times a week, when using this Cleansing Cream.
Speaking of conditioner, the Too Shea! is a daily (or as needed) conditioning product. It is super moisturizing, probably due to the fact that it contains real shea butter, avocado oil, jojoba oil, and other healthy ingredients. It left my hair softer than I have ever felt it before-and I'm not kidding, not exaggerating. If you ever thought soft hair was an impossibility for you, then PLEASE try Too Shea!
Now, here's where I really fell in love with Jessicurl products. The Rockin' Ringlets Styling Potion. Not only are the products super, but they also give you details on the best way to apply them. For example, I always got out of the shower, used a microfiber towel (at least I got that part right) to wrap my hair, and let it partially dry before adding styling products. I learned that's a big no-no though! After getting out of the shower, and before letting a towel touch my hair, I bend over, and rake a small puddle of Rockin' Ringlets Styling Potion through my hair, scrunching it upwards as I do so. Flip your hair over, and a few minutes later it's on to step 2.
Bend over once again, and carefully use a microfiber towel to scrunch your hair upwards, thus removing any excess water. Now it's time to apply the Confident Coils Styling Potion, still bent over. Again, rake it through a few times, then scrunch gently. Now, don't touch your hair until it is completely dry! I always air dry, so this was no problem for me. After completely drying you can use your fingers to loosen any "crunch", but this rarely occurs. I literally didn't need to comb my hair all day-the curls stayed in great shape (no pun intended), and I had just about no frizz. The styling products provide hold without a wet look or that nasty crunchy feeling, and my hair has never looked, or felt, better.
If, by chance, your curls happen to lose a little of that bounce during the day, you can touch them up with the Awe Inspiring Spray. Just lightly mist your hair, and then gently scrunch up. It's not something I've needed to use very often, but it is nice to know it's there!
The Deep Conditioning Treatment is for use once a week or so, which works great for me. Every 7-10 days I use this for an added moisture boost, and it really makes a difference. This is the first product I've ever used that requires a 30-60 minute leave-in time, so I apply it right before getting out of the shower, and then rinse it out over the tub with our handheld shower at the needed time. Yes, it's not as convenient as those 3-minute deep conditioners, but there is a major difference in the results! Honestly, every step of the Rich and Radiant Curls Collection has worked perfectly, and now I won't be satisfied with anything less. Jessicurl-you have spoiled me for life!!
