As you are all well aware, the holiday season is not only one of the "most wonderful" times of the year, but also one of the most hectic. It's not just the busy-ness, traveling, shopping, crowds, traffic, and lines at the mall, but the stress of searching for that perfect gift. You know what I mean? Some people are just hard to shop for, whether it's because they already "have everything they want", or just don't have any real hobbies or an interest that you can use for your gift ideas. I have a couple people like this in my family (makes shopping for birthdays and holidays real fun!) so whenever I can think of something useful and practical for gifts, like shaving supplies, I jump at it!
For example, this past holiday season one of my brothers didn't have any idea what he wanted for gifts. We asked him for ideas, even brought him to several different stores, and had him wander through looking for anything he thought he'd like. After a couple hours, he turned up with...a big fat nothing! We were finally able to order something online that he did really like, but I'm thinking now that some shaving supplies would have been perfect! Especially for J, because he is so particular when it comes to shaving supplies.
I asked him what some of his favorites and have-to-have items were when it came to shaving, and here's what he came up with.
First of all, he (actually both of my brothers) said an electric razor is much better than a manual razor. I guess an electric razor is easier, faster, and has less chance of cutting or nicking yourself.
Secondly, they said a shave gel or cream is a must. They don't really have a favorite brand, but lathering up with a good amount is necessary. Pretty obvious one here, but still worth mentioning.
Lastly, finishing off with an aftershave is something both my brothers always do. I'm not sure if there's a benefit to this, or if they just like smelling good! :)

I do see that my husband cuts himself more with a manual razor. I will be looking for an electric razor and I think it is better to use. Shave gel is definitely a must!

The amazing thing is what they charge nowadays for replacement heads on electric shavers, almost as much for a new shaver!
I used to get my dad after shave for Christmas every year, so certain scents remind me of him.
