SGSG-Gerber Knives Review!!

One gift I can always be sure that just about anyone in my family would enjoy receiving is a knife. Yes, even the girls-I personally have a pretty nice collection started, as do several others in the family. So when trying to get some different companies and products in the gift guide, I immediately thought of Gerber Gear, probably my favorite go-to brand for a knife! I have several Gerber pocketknives and tools, so I was pleased to add yet another-the Gerber Instant.

The Gerber Instant is fairly new, and features a blade close to 3 1/2" long. When folded closed, it's not quite 5", so it's a nice sturdy size. Not too small, yet not so big it's uncomfortable for carrying in your pocket. My favorite aspect of the Instant is the one-handed opening. Simply flick the little knob, and your blade springs open! (This quite impressed several little boys, who thought "girls" didn't carry knives!). The knife also locks open, but a simple push of a button releases the locking mechanism.

The Gerber Instant is a very sleek looking knife, with the black composite handle. It's also very lightweight, only 4 ounces! Honestly, among all my knives, the Gerber Instant is my new favorite, and now goes just about everywhere with me!

Gerber has many other products that would make great gifts; knives, tools, lights, and outdoor gear. Check out their selection for the man (or maybe woman) on your list who enjoys the outdoors!

  3. Love that it's easy to open with one hand. I have a couple of pocket knives, and they are so hard to open, I never bother with them.
