Purely Modest sent me a Miriam Skirt for review, and I was able to actually go through the customization process, to get a skirt that was exactly what I like. I sent in my preferred fabric and color choices (navy blue polyester poplin), as well as my measurements to ensure a perfect fit. Waist, hips and length were all taken so that the skirt was guaranteed to fit properly, and be the right length-something I have trouble with, as I'm a little taller than average. The Miriam Skirt is a 6-gore skirt, which provides a slimming appearance, yet has plenty of material to "flow", and give that feminine touch. The skirt has a waistband and zipper, so it's a little more fitted than the typical elastic waist. When my skirt came in, I could hardly wait to try it on.

Sorry, the coloring just wouldn't come out right for this shot! |
First, though, I took the time to check out the seams. Honestly, you can not tell this isn't a store-bought skirt; everything is very neatly and professionally done. If you're thinking "homemade" means the skirt will be sloppy, or have loose threads, uneven seams-set your mind at ease! Purely Modest provides you with 5-star quality work!
After finishing my "inspection" of the skirt, I tried it on-and found to my delight that it is really a perfect fit. The waist isn't too snug, and sits just right. The length-wow! It hits right below my ankle bone, just where I like. Plenty long enough, yet not sweeping the floor as I walk :) This skirt has become a favorite, and looks great being dressed up with a nice blouse for Church, or paired with a favorite tee for running errands during the week.

ReplyDeleteI go to salivation army it’s the only place I can find modest skirts where I live without spending hours search.
ReplyDeleteBefore I got married years back I asked the lady at David’s bridal for long sleeves because I wanted something modest. She handed me something backless.
I considered getting the off white goth dress I found at Hot Topic.
I went to a local boutique people recommended.
I didn't have to wait 3 years for it either.
Sometimes modest clothing is uncomfortable, but this skirt looks very comfortable to wear!
