Did you know bulbs aren't just for gardeners? I have to confess, I do not in any way have a "green thumb". 2 of my sister's got that blessing, and both enjoy gardening; I am the complete opposite. However, I am always interested in finding new ways to beautify our home, so I was pleased to find the website DigDropDone.
DigDropDone is the brainchild of 3 ladies, all of which have very different lives and interests. One thing they have in common, though, is a love for bulbs. I read the short bios on each of them, and I can certainly identify with Marcy, the "Supermom". Like Marcy, I am always busy, and am on the lookout for simple ways to get things done. After all, family is the most important thing in my life, so spending less time to get my house looking pretty is a benefit!
After reading some of the ideas on the DigDropDone site, however, I am inspired to try my hand at some bulbs. I am lving the pictures of beautiful bulbs planted in the most unique planters. I think I'll try some for our home; they'd look gorgeous sitting on a bookshelf!
DigDropDone is also sponsoring the Curbside Chaos contest. It's easy to enter, and if you win you'll receive a $5,000 yard makeover, as well as a visit from Taniya Nayak, who will give you unique ideas and hints to make the most of your yard. This contest ends April 15th, so you've only got a couple days to enter! You can visit www.digdropdone.com to learn more!
While you're checking out the $5,000 Makeover Contest, you can also use the gardening guru to find out how and when to plant bulbs. Here are the simple directions for my area and bulb of choice:
