20 Second Fitness Works!!

Okay, I have officially, for the first time ever, actually followed through on those New Years Resolutions (albeit a few months late :). You know I recently started following a healthy eating plan, and now I'm making a commitment to exercise 5 days a week for the next 6 weeks! (Actually 5 weeks, because I completed week 1 last week).

Early last week I received a package from 20 Second Fitness, that included everything I needed to start burning the calories and getting in shape. The set comes with 6 workout dvds, resistance bands, jump rope, food guide, and progress calendar. Honestly this is a fitness program that takes away all your excuses for not working out every day. Don't have the time? This only takes 4-12 minutes a day! Can't buy special equipment? All provided, except for basic household items like a chair, used for certain exercises. No motivation? Spencer provides plenty of that during each workout!!

I started out with disc X, which is basically an introduction, and shows proper form for each "move" on the workouts. Then it's onto disc W, the warm-up weeks program. Now, no matter what you're thinking ("How on earth can 4 minutes a day make a difference?" "This has got be super-easy; too easy for me") believe me when I say you're wrong. Spencer, the instructor on these dvds, is totally right when he says you need to check your ego at the door! I believe I am in an above average fitness level. Between outdoor sports, aerobic exercise, walking, and strength training, I stay very active. However, the first couple 4-minute workouts showed me how far I have to go yet! No, it wasn't unbearable. Yes, I was able to complete the entire workout at an intense level, without resting. And yet, it left me more out of breath than I like to admit!

Today marked the beginning of warm-up week 2, and I am looking forward to each day's workout. Today I graduated from 4-5 minutes each day, to 8 minutes! I am loving how my body feels after the exercise, and how each day targets a couple different muscles/area of the body. I am very excited about this, and ready to become "20 Second Tough"!!

Just in the past week, between eating better and sticking with the exercise schedule, I have lost 1 pound, 1 inch from my waist, 1 inch (each) from my thighs, and 1/2 inch off my hips. Yes, am totally hyped and ready to keep going! I'll be posting updates about my 20 Second Fitness journey each Tuesday, so check back next week to find out how it's going!

  1. That's fantastic! I dread the "30 minute" workout. What would scare me is the jump rope, I haven't done that since I was a little girl. I really need to tone up & I don't get on that treadmill like I insisted on buying. I'm really only a tad overweight, but very out of shape.

  3. Great review and good for you! I love the idea of the few minutes a day workout. Think of how many minutes we waste every day and how they could be put to use like this.
