While planning your vacation, I'm sure one of the first things you research is lodging. I'm pretty much the trip planner in our family, and whether it's a weekend trip or a 2-week vacation, I check out all the lodging options-from hotels to cabins to tent camping-and get a basic idea of the cost, amenities, and location.
When looking at lodging in Branson, MO the options are almost endless. However, I sincerely believe I found one of the best when I was given a complimentary stay at the Holiday Inn Express at Green Mountain Drive.
We made a reservation for a room with 2 queen beds, so there was plenty of sleeping room for the kids. When we arrived, I headed to the desk to check in. Sherri, the lady at the front desk, was very pleasant, and had us checked in promptly. She was very quick, efficient and friendly. It was a joy to have someone so pleasant, as I have been to many hotels that the employees really didn't seem to care what kind of impression they made on their guests!
After getting our room keys, Branson map and some directions about the hotel amenities, we headed up to our room. What a lovely first impression we received!
A spacious room with 2 queen beds, small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and flat screen tv. The bathroom has a full size tub and shower, which was greatly appreciated by the children, who enjoy their evening baths (especially after a long day of sight-seeing!).
I liked the double sink vanities, which enabled the children to brush their teeth while someone else was in the tub. No need to wait in line to wash your hands or brush teeth. Of course, this also made morning preparation easier as well, with a hair dryer and an extra mirror outside the bathroom!
After a day of seeing the sights in Branson, it was time to relax and unwind. Of course, kids' ideas of relaxing are different than ours, so they decided to hit the game room.
The air hockey didn't seem to be working properly, so I asked Sherri about it, and she sent an employee up to check it out. Within just a couple minutes, they had it fixed and running smoothly, so our air hockey battles were able to continue!

The next morning we checked out the breakfast before heading back out for more touring. To my surprise, the hotel features a full, hot breakfast with eggs, meat, pastries, waffles, cereal, fruit, and the famous Holiday Inn Cinnamon Rolls! Can you say delicious?! Milk, juice and coffee rounded out the selection for a really nice breakfast. No one was complaining of being hungry after we got through!
All in all, I was very impressed with this Holiday Inn Express. Spacious, well-furnished rooms, friendly staff, a big breakfast, plenty of activities for the kids, a fitness center to work off the calories from that extra cinnamon roll :) and high speed wireless internet so you can stay connected! If you're planning a visit to Branson, I recommend you check out the Holiday Inn Express on Green Mountain Drive-you won't be disappointed!
