I know, you're thinking exactly what I did. Social networking doesn't help you lose weight or stay healthy, it makes you a couch potato! Well, that was before I learned about Cafe Well and Race To The Moon.
Cafe Well is a social network that connects you with other people who share the same health concerns or goals, and offers various options for learning about how to stay healthy. One of the best features of Cafe Well, I think, is the Challenges. This is where you can either create a challenge (for example, Buddy Up For Better Health, or Get In Shape With 8) or join a challenge already created. With up to hundreds of people participating in these challenges, you are motivated and more apt to keep focus on your goal than if you just personally decided to do one of these challenges.
While browsing the challenges on Cafe Well, I came up with one of my own: Consistent 30-minute cardio 5 days a week for 8 weeks. I tend to get started on a fitness program, and end up fading out about halfway through. Or I go out of town for a weekend, and decide to just let the exercise go. I think joining these challenges would be a great way to get or stay healthy!
Also, if you're part of HealthAmerica, Cafe Well is offering a program called Race To The Moon. This is a unique program that encourages people to work out and eat healthy by offering really great prizes! You can also order a free pedometer when you join the Race To The Moon program.
So, as we start a new year, if you're looking for ways to get or stay in shape, you might want to check out Cafe Well-it's free to join!
