Although we have never had any formal training, our family loves to sing. We often do specials for Church or special meetings, and have gone to nursing homes on occasion to sing for the residents there. It's something we all enjoy, and we're always looking for ways to improve our singing. So, I was excited when Homespun Tapes sent me 2 of their products designed to help vocalists. I received the Bluegrass and Gospel Duet Singing: Old Time Country Harmony DVD by Dailey and Vincent, as well as the Learn To Sing Harmony book and cd set.
I have of course heard of Dailey and Vincent, and was really looking forward to learning some harmony techniques from them. The dvd is very well done, as they demonstrate many of their unique styles on various songs throughout the recording. They also discuss how to create stunning harmony no matter what style you sing. You're also given the chance to sing lead or harmony part on Hide Thou Me, and Darrin demonstrates what it should sound like. This is a great dvd for anyone who is interested in improving their singing!
Disc 1 is in my cd player :) |
