Everyone knows games make some of the BEST gifts. Anyone is our family gets thrilled when they unwrap a new game! Whether it's a board game, trivia game, or just a fun party-style game, we all enjoy trying it out.
Buffalo Games generously sent me not only a game, but also a puzzle for review. My sister loves puzzles, and once she gets started on one...she won't stop until it's finished! So for my review, I chose the Last Word game, and Twilight In Gettysburg puzzle.
We tried the game out for our "girls night" last week. The guys all went camping, and the girls stayed home, had snacks, and played games. Last Word was a big hit! I really liked how easy it was to learn, and that the younger kids had no problem playing-as a matter of fact, the youngest player was in 3rd place (out of 6) by the time we ended! The game includes a board, 8 pawns, letter cards, subject cards and trade-in pieces. Each player takes a subject card and reads it without letting the others see it. One player flips the letter card, and everyone has to think of a word that starts with the designated letter, and has to do with their subject. For example, the category I drew was "Car Brands and Models", and the letter was C. So I called out Charger! As I call out my word, I slap my subject card down, slap the timer, and everyone joins in calling out car models that start with C. Surprisingly, M won this round by yelling "convertible" right before the timer buzzed. And so it goes, with a new subject card and new letter each time. The last person to shout a word in the proper category/letter gets to move ahead one space on the board. And the first person to finish wins! This was a very fun game, and got a little loud at times :) Definitely not something you want to play if it's supposed to be "quiet time"!
The puzzle I received, Twilight In Gettysburg, is absolutely beautiful. This is part of the Mort Kunstler collection, who is my favorite artist. And of course, Gen. Robert E Lee is one of our family's heroes. This actually will be a gift (remember I said my sister loves puzzles :) so I haven't put it together. However, I know C will be thrilled when she sees it. The puzzle also includes a color print of the scene.
1 of my readers will receive the newest game from Buffalo Games,

"Game Description: Phone Frenzy is the calling, texting, picture message party game where you use your cell phones to call and text friends, and complete hilarious challenges in four categories.
