I recently discovered a really awesome website that sells all kinds of cookware for your kitchen or for use over a campfire! Jacob Bromwell graciously sent me an Old Fashioned Popcorn Popper.
The neat thing is this works both at home over the stove, or over a fire. So we can use it for family night at home, or camping at the state park! We often go camping over the winter in the southern states, so I am excited about bringing this along. For now, however, I am using it at home. This is a great addition to our Friday family nights, which include games, reading, sometimes a Christian movie like Fireproof, and always snacks! Popcorn is one of the family's favorite snacks so you can be sure we have used this a lot. The kids have never used a popper like this before (they pretty much thought microwave popcorn was all that existed) so they had fun too. It is very easy to use, and I love the rustic look to it. It is made very well, and although it is heavy duty and sturdy, it is also lightweight so it is easy to handle. Here are some pictures from our popcorn popping adventure:
First step-heat a couple tablespoons of oil
Step 2: Add popcorn!
Step 3: Replace lid (yes, I removed the label :)
Step 4: Popcorn!
Step 5: Add butter, salt, toppings, etc. This one is cheddar cheese-yum!
