HearthSong Botanicals Cactus Garden Kit-Review and Giveaway!!

I was recently given the opportunity to choose an item for review from a really neat website, HearthSong! HearthSong is a kid's shopping dream; you can find all sorts of toys, games, outdoor activities and more! You can shop by interest, age, category or price. So, after spending a while browsing, I decided on the Botanicals Cactus Garden. 

M has recently taken a great interest in gardening, and has a few tomato, strawberry and pepper plants out back. So this is right up her alley! This kit comes with everything you need to create a beautiful little cactus "greenhouse" garden. A mini greenhouse habitat, seed planting tray, sand, soil block, shovel, rake, seed packet and instructions. 

When the package arrived and I showed M, she was excited! A couple days later we sat down to plant the cactus garden. After placing the tray in the greenhouse, we had to add the sand. Then it was time to get the soil block soft and loamy. It took some work, but by adding water and using the rake, we accomplished this part pretty easily. Then it was time to plant! The packet includes a variety of cactus seeds, and we planted these in rows. After that we had to do the hardest part-wait! 

Yesterday we started seeing some little green plants coming up; M is excited about seeing the finished garden!

This would be perfect for any youngster who has an interest in gardening. It would also make a great show-and-tell for school!
