Grateful Body Skincare Review and Giveaway! LLG

Finding a skincare system that really cleanses, yet nourishes and benefits your skin at the same time can be difficult. However, I recently had the chance to review an awesome system. Grateful Body sent me the Oily Skin Basics Set. I love the little motto on each piece; :Food for the skin".  It really does feel that way; this skincare really feels like it is being absorbed into your skin, and actually nourishing! 

The Oily Skin Basics Set comes with 3 pieces; a Deep Cleanser, Toner and Moisturizer. The cleanser is unique because usually, a "deep cleanse", or any wash for oily skin is rather harsh. Many times it ends up drying out my skin. However, even though this deep cleanser is made for oily skin, it is still gentle while it gets the job done. It also has a very pleasant lavender scent that I love. I really liked the spray-on toner. I love the refreshing feel of misting this cool toner over my face. The moisturizer is very nice as well, and hydrates without leaving oily residue on my skin. One thing I noticed with this was how far a little bit went! It only takes about half the amount I normally use for moisturizing! This also has a very nice floral fragrance. 

"Our job is to deliver potent nutrients to the skin. We extract these nutrients from the roots, seeds, resins, fruit/vegetable pulp, flowers, bark and leaves of organic, biodynamically-grown or ethically-wildcrafted botanicals. All our extraction procedures (including tinctures, infusions, SCE*, distillations, juicing, expeller-pressed) avoid high heat, chemical solvents and unsustainable processing. 

We know that water is the essential aspect of biological life. So all our formulations start with water that has been rhythmically patterned by running it through flowforms. After double filtering, we stream our water through the five double-vortex channels of our Grateful Body flowform, then we let it air in large copper bowls. This use of alive, vibrant, beneficially-activated water makes our products incredibly healthy and effective.

First, keep the skin authentically* hydrated. For this we determine which botanicals are optimal for the complex task of moisturizing different skin types. Choosing plants that nourish the blood, remove congestion, reduce inflammation, stimulate the circulation, promote detoxification or dispel heat/dryness all are different ways to help the skin stay moisturized.
*in contrast, pseudo-hydration is an artificial matter - giving the skin a temporary 'smooth' or 'silky' surface feeling.

Second, we choose a carrier that will deepen the moisturizing process. For aqueous (water-based) carriers we often use herbal-infusions, hydrosol flower waters, fruit juices, aloe vera gel, witch hazel or apple cider vinegar. The lipid carriers are plant-derived oils chosen for their specific nutritive attributes. When oil & water are combined to function as a carrier, the result is the familiar lotion or cream."
