Have you heard about Verizon FiOS? I just found out about it recently, and it really looks like something I could use! The biggest benefit for me would be the super-fast internet capability. Of course, with my blogging and other internet-necessary tasks, I am always uploading pictures and videos. And on the occasions where I am stuck with wireless that just isn't working properly, or have a larger-than-normal file to upload-I really can not stand slow internet! I have been researching the FiOS internet, and it looks to be about the best on the market. An added benefit is that the internet doesn't slow down during peak hours. Ever tried checking your email in the evening and it just won't work because of the amount of people online? Sooo frustrating! It sounds like that is not a problem with Verizon FiOS internet!
Another aspect of the FiOS that I really like is the media manager. With this unique tool, you can access, view and use digital pictures, movies, internet-streaming movies and more from your tv! (If it is connected to FiOS). This would be really neat for watching our home movies on a bigger screen than my computer affords. And better sound without hooking up external speakers, etc.
I think what amazes me most about Verizon FiOS is the widgets for your tv. Yes, you read that right-tv widgets! You can now access Twitter, Youtube, Facebook and more directly from your FiOS enabled tv! Tweet or post status updates while you're watching a movie, share a little factoid from the documentary you just watched...the uses are endless! Verizon has turned your tv into a social networking tv!
For those who rent movies online (not something we really do, but I know a lot of people who enjoy this), Verizon FiOS is ready for you too. It's called Flex-View, and you can view and rent movies on-demand via your FiOS-tv, computer or mobile phone. What I think is really neat is you can start watching a movie on your tv, then if you run out of time...finish watching it the next day on your phone! Nice, huh?
Honestly, though, one of the biggest things that caught my attention was how Verizon FiOS seems to really be concerned with making sure you get the service you need, when you need it. With the In-Home Agent, you have 24/7 access to hints, tips and answers for any problems you may encounter. Have you ever tried calling a support number for an electronic, and the person on the other end just can't answer your questions? Or their solution just doesn't solve your problem? Verizon prides itself on resolving your situation quickly and easily!
If any of my readers have Verizon FiOS, or have any thoughts about it, please share them with me! I'm sort of a "techie" so I'd love to hear opinions from those who have tried FiOS out for themselves!
