I do a lot of sewing, and I love being able to design my own styles in the comfort of my own home. I also enjoy being able to see a pattern or style and then copy it for myself! There have been many times I have seen a skirt, dress, jumper, etc. that I really liked, and then went home and made a "pattern" for myself!
I recently picked out some new fabric from J and O Fabrics, a Dalcross Gray Polyester Dress Plaid. I am a huge fan of plaid skirts; there is just something so beautiful about the stripes, lines and blends of color! When the material came in, I realized that the picture on the website doesn't do justice to the lovely colors! With the gray background, blue, red and dark gray stripes, the fabric has a very appealing look. With a 60" width, I had more than enough for my favorite pattern...a 6-gore elastic waistband skirt. This polyester material was very easy to work with, and it only took a couple hours to get it all cut out and sewn up!
I really like how the skirt turned out. It is something I can wear for casual, everyday or even a Wednesday evening Church service!
