SFF-Katy's Cache Feminine Western Wear-Review!!

Wow, the final day of our Spring Fashion Fling! I can't believe it is already over; I have had a lot of fun with this event :)
For our last feature company, I'd like to take you to Katy's Cache- an etsy shop with the cutest cowgirl clothing I have ever seen! Talk about gorgeous, authentic-looking western wear! I ran across the website several months ago, and fell in love with all the beautiful clothing. You all know I have a weakness for western style, so this was an obvious match.
First, let me introduce you to the genius behind Katy's Cache...

"My name is Nancy Ruybal ( I will help you out there, it is pronounced rooBELL ) I live in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, amidst tall Saguaros, dramatic landscapes and blazing skies. I have sewn my own clothes since being inspired in high school Home Ec class. As a person who loves the out doors and has spent a good portion of my life working and playing in the desert, I love to make clothes that are comfortable and fashionable. Ranch women are a sort of athlete, typically with strong physics, muscular arms and backs. My clothes are made for such a woman; with plenty of freedom of movement but with a fit that is flattering and a style that says "all Woman".
My husband, Wes, and I also have a Cowboy band called Katy Creek. We write and perform songs, stories and poems about the Cowboy and Ranching life of the old West as well as the modern day cowboy.
Many of the outfits you'll see in the shop are just like or inspired by my stage clothes. But I do wear these type of fashions in my everyday life also. Gauchos, Gypsy skirts and light easy tops are fashionable and common place here in the desert for being practical, comfortable and most of all, cool. Jeans are great also, and will be added to my fashion line in the near future.

I look forward to hearing from shop visitors and getting an opportunity to meet your Western Wear Fashion dreams."

Nancy and I discussed the "look" I would like, what type of clothing I typically wear, etc. And, of course, the sizing :) I was anxious to see what Nancy had designed for me, and could not wait to open the package when it came in! In fact, I was in such a hurry that I forgot to take a picture of the lovely packaging :( So, you'll just have to take my word for it-the packaging is very pretty and feminine...just like the clothing! I received a western-type top in a beautiful mint-green swiss dotted material. Absolutely stunning! It is so, so feminine-something that is missing in a lot of the ladies sections in clothing stores! The blouse has lace detailing, and pretty floral buttons.

So, if you're looking for some beautiful western-themed ladies clothing, be sure to check out Katy's Cache on Etsy!

Top Ten Things Children Would Miss! Mars Needs Moms

Okay, here is a really fun opportunity from SocialMoms! What are the top 10 things your kids would miss most about you if you were abducted by aliens?! Obviously this will be a funny post!
So, here we go.
#1 I think what they would miss the most is my baking. Yes, I am known as the baker in our family. Cookies, brownies, from-scratch pies... You name it-if it can be baked, I get asked to make it! Some of our family favorites are mocha pie, peanut butter oatmeal bars and chocolate chip walnut cookies-yeah, I think the kids would miss the treats more than they'd miss me!

#2. I think they would probably miss the games we play together. About 5 nights a week we sit down and play different board, card and party games. I'm always up for learning a new game, and the kids love having me get in on their play time together.

#3 Bike rides! Our whole family loves riding bikes, and because we live in a small town, we can go almost anywhere!  Through the local state park, out on the dirt roads, up and down the hills around town. One of our favorite outdoor activities that they would certainly miss.

#4 Shopping! This one is more with the girls than the boys, although I do enjoy wandering through sporting goods stores too. But, I really like shopping with the girls and finding new outfits or shoes...especially when we can find matching!

#5 Cooking...yes, this is separate from baking. I'm a little more comfortable with trying new baking recipes, but I recently tried a new stir-fry recipe that all the kids really liked.

#6 The kids would miss someone to wake up in the middle of the night when they're sick, scared, or just need someone to hold them. While it seems like a small thing, the little girls especially appreciate having me there to help with whatever they need during the night.

#7 Trying out new hairstyles! The girls enjoy looking at hairstyling books and trying them out on me :) While they don;t always come out just right, the kids have fun and I enjoy the pampering.

#8 Devotions-a big part of our family. Sometimes we enjoy getting up early and spend some time reading the Bible together. It's a special time of discussion and prayer time as well.

#9 Singing :) Yes, our family sings, and while I'm not sure they would miss my stern practice sessions, I know they would miss not having a family sing along anymore. Especially the youngest, who is always singing no matter where she is-the tub, at school, or even wandering through a store!

#10 Lastly, I think something the children would miss is just being a family. Laughing, telling jokes, sharing funny stories or exciting news from their day. It's important that they have a Mom to share things with, whether big or small.

So, what about you? What would your kids miss the most about you? Share them with us, please!

Need SAT Tutoring? StudyPoint Can Help!!

With my mother being a former English teacher, I pretty much excelled in all areas of English, Grammar, Spelling, etc. It's one class I always loved, and spelling tests were probably my favorite part of school. And grammar? Don't get me started! Even now, as I read a Church bulletin, or a billboard along the interstate, I catch an innumerable amount of grammatical errors. Without even trying! Seriously, it's like my brain automatically picks these things out.
However easy and fun English was for me, though, I had a...well...not so loving relationship with Math. The funny thing is, I did okay for the most part...I just didn't like it! So, looking back now, I wish I had known (or rather my parents had known) about StudyPoint. A personalized tutor in math? Oh yeah! Talk about something I would have jumped at in a heartbeat! A tutor could have really helped me with my math struggles. Maybe I would have even enjoyed it!
StudyPoint was founded in 1999, and right from the start was focused on the needs of families who wanted a higher level of customer service, convenience, and students who would benefit from individualized, one-to-one instruction (that would be me!). Recently, StudyPoint was once again named to the INC 5,000 list of the fastest growing private companies in America. Since inception, the company has helped over 13,000 students nationwide increase their confidence, and achieve higher grades and test scores. Custom Shirt Review!!

I worked with last year, and really enjoyed the whole experience. I was excited when they offered to participate in my Spring Fashion Fling. What better addition to you wardrobe than to create your own custom t-shirt?! I was given a gift code to design my shirt, and I had a lot of fun deciding on what to do.
I went with a Polo shirt, since I prefer a collared shirt when I'm out and about. There are many colors to choose from, and I went with the navy blue. I only put a design on the back...I put a favorite Bible verse on it, and a clipart that I thought demonstrated the verse very well-2 martial artists sparring!

Because we were headed out of town, I upgraded to the 2-3 day shipping. I was concerned something would go wrong, and it wouldn't be in till after we left. But, it arrived on schedule the day before we headed out! The shirt is very comfortable, and fits great. My family loves it, and thought it was so neat that I could create my own shirt online! I love the ease of ordering though Fibers. Everything is laid out very simple and easy to understand, and there are a ton of options so everyone can find something to suit their taste. I also appreciated the guideline box when designing, which ensures your text, clipart, etc. stays in an area where it is legible and easily seen while you are wearing your creation.

Fibers has a huge selection of predesigned I Love T-shirts as well that you can check out. Or, if you prefer, you can get started right away and design a t-shirt!
