Well, I have officially fallen in love...With Redken hair care products!! I was sent the complete Redken Fresh Curls line for review, and let me tell you...these products are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! The Fresh Curls line includes Shampoo, Conditioner, Anti-Frizz Shiner, Curl Boost Anti-Frizz Spray Gel, Curl Refiner Leave-In Detangler, Fresh Curls Recovery Mask, and Spring Mousse Leave-In. So, after getting my perm a couple months ago, I started experimenting with different brands and lines of haircare to see what would work best for me. I didn't realize how much difference just using a shampoo and conditioner designed for curly hair would help keep the curl in, and frizz out! The Fresh Curls shampoo and conditioner have a unique combination of ingredients that moisturizes (a must-have for my hair...permed or not!), defines curls, repairs, strengthens, and fights the tendency to frizz. I L-O-V-E this shampoo and conditioner! The Anti-Frizz Shiner helps smooth any flyaways, and blocks humidity that would cause frizzing. One of my favorite products in this line is the Curl Boost Spray Gel. I much prefer using a spray-in gel for a couple reasons. One, it seems to get distributed more evenly than when I apply normal gel by hand. Second, (at least with the Fresh Curls spray gel), it doesn't weigh my hair down as much. I don't know if the spray-in gel is lighter, or what, but this definitely kept my curls curlier and more defined than using a regular hair gel. I even tried another brand of spray-in gel (the only brand I could find it in, before I found Redken),
but it didn't hold the curls as well as the Fresh Curls spray gel. The Curl Refiner is a really nice leave-in product. It is a detangler (among other things), so I like using this right after a shower. The Spring Mousse (another leave-in) is very aptly named. It adds some life and some bounce to curly hair! One of my other favorites is the Curl Recovery Mask. This is an intense moisturizing and repairing product. I use this once every week or so; applying after I shampoo, and leaving it in for 3-4 minutes. After rinsing out, my hair feels so soft, and the curls seem to come back to life! This has the highest level of moisturizing in the Fresh Curls line, and it really works great. Now, on top of how well (and I mean WELL) the Fresh Curls line works, it smells great, too! It has a very soft, subtle fragrance that doesn't overpower, but leaves your hair smelling fresh, clean, and pretty!
"Moisture and definition for all types of curls. All curls are not created equal. Some curls are coarse, frizzy and hard to manage. Other curls are lazy, fragile and lack definition. Fresh Curls addresses the specific needs of different types of curly hair with new technologies and products specifically formulated for each type of curl. Now you can awaken and boost fine, lazy curls or discipline and redefine coarse, unruly locks."
"Beginning in 1960, Redken revolutionized the professional salon business by introducing the concept of protein reconditioning. Based on evidence that hair is composed primarily of proteins, and can absorb topically applied proteins, Redken developed new protein based products. Salons were suddenly able to condition hair internally and for the long-term rather than solely camouflage damage.
Redken soon began to develop patented protein technologies and now holds over 60 global patents on products and ingredients. In fact, Redken's two latest patents for protein technology are the basis for our haircare and styling lines.
Patent #6,015,574 was issued for Redken's exclusive Interbond Conditioning System. An integral part of Redken's haircare collection, it provides simple solutions to specific needs by carrying highly specialized ingredients to the hair. These ingredients help transform the hair's inner structure while dramatically improving its outer appearance."
