Sassy Scrubs Review and Giveaway!!

My Mom has told me many times that scrub tops are very comfortable to wear. I never tried wearing any, though, until Sassy Scrubs gave me the opportunity to review a couple of their scrub tops. And now? I agree wholeheartedly with my Mom-scrub tops are definitely some of the most comfy tops you can find!

Sassy Scrubs offers a unique scrub-shopping experience, though. They make custom scrubs with over 1400 fabrics available!  Everything from fleece to t-shirt knit to cotton material, and all kinds of designs and prints!  And they don't offer just the scrub tops-you can pick scrub tops, pants, jackets, lab coats, maternity scrubs, and even kids scrubs! And, if you see a fabric you really like-they also sell it by the yard!
Anything you're looking for in the way of scrubs, Sassy Scrubs has it!

"Sassy Scrubs began nearly two decades ago as an alternative choice for medical staff. Bored with the bland solid color scrubs which were their only options at that time, medical, dental and veterinary staff quickly discovered they had other options at Sassy Scrubs. The business grew steadily, gaining repeat customers around the world. The founder's poor health and an unclear business progression slowed the business in the late 1990's. After experiencing a two year hiatus, Sassy Scrubs was rejuvenated and invigorated in 2003 by the current President, Karen Bradley.

Begun in Upstate New York, Sassy Scrubs is still here, in a small rural town where each piece ordered is carefully cut and sewn individually. Our staff sews each piece from beginning to end so they "own" each garment they produce. No one sews countless pockets, side seams, or hems all day, as in large factories. Our seamstresses care about the items they produce for our customers and their quality shows in each piece produced. We make our garments as we'd want them made for ourselves. Good quality, well made, and one piece at a time.

Sassy Scrubs was the first company to offer print designs in scrub wear and the first to offer cotton as a fabric choice. Our company also saw the need for a broader size base for our customers, offering sizes from XXS to 6XL. Customers needed more choices for size and for length of garments. Customers wanted more variety. Sassy Scrubs recognized that need for choices. And we delivered."

Sassy Scrubs also donate their remnants left over from making the scrubs, and donate it to various charities. In turn, these remnants become quilts, lap blankets, dolls and doll clothes for children in hospitals, and much more! For more info, check out the Sassy Scrubs Charitable Ventures page.

I received 2 Sassy Scrubs tops for review; one in a Southwest-style fabric, and the other is a lovely floral pattern.  The floral top is made from a softer cotton than the other top. I love the brilliant red/pink colors!  It's almost a Hawaiian-type print, and I really like it!
The Indian/Southwest-style top is also cotton, and is a deep tan/brown background with Indians, horses, buffalo and other Native American symbols on it.

I have worn both of these A LOT. They are so comfy and easy to slip on for a day at the house!  Each of my scrub tops has nice deep pockets on the front, which have come in very handy! I love pockets!

Sassy Scrubs is offering a $20.00 gift code to one of my readers, so they can design their own Scrubs!

Steel Orchids Jewelry-Review and Giveaway!!

I was given the opportunity to review a piece of jewelry from Steel Orchids a few weeks ago, and I am very impressed! I chose to review the Silver and Cubic Zirconia Elements Teardrop Necklace.  This is an absolutely stunning pendant that comes on an 18" chain. The pendant is silver, and has a cubic zirconia jewel centered in the teardrop.

It is lovely in that it will match any outfit, and I have worn this several times already to dressy events! The necklace comes in a pale blue jewelry box that adds to the elegant air of the jewelry.

The necklace seems very well made, and I love the chain! It's not so delicate it tangles or knots easily, yet it's not too big or bold. This is definitely a very elegant, feminine piece of jewelry!

"Steel Orchids was established seven years ago by jewellery designer and silversmith, Mary Micouris. We have an ever-expanding catalogue of gold, diamond, silver and gemstone jewellery and, as a family-run jewellery business, we have a commitment to providing you with beautifully-made jewellery with a friendly and efficient service."

California Blooms Review!!

Recently I was given the opportunity to review a bouquet of Roses from California Blooms.

"California Blooms is a family owned and operated company based in California. We are the premier internet source for the freshest, boutique grown roses in the USA. Our California grown roses are individually hand-selected and cut at the peak of their growing cycle, hydrated overnight and shipped farm-direct to your doorstep. We are confident you will not find a fresher rose anywhere."

I was able to choose the color I liked best, and I decided to go with the mixed blooms.   I am glad I did! Each color (they have 8 available) is so pretty, I am glad I was able to see them all! I have to say, this is the first time I had ever seen green roses, but they are really neat!  I think my favorites are the lavender and orange, but they are all absolutely gorgeous.

The 2 dozen roses came in via Fedex, and they were very fresh, not at all wilted or anything. We had trouble previously with another flower delivery company (took 3 tries before we finally got fresh flowers delivered), but that was not at all a problem with California Blooms!  (As I write this it's been almost a week since they were delivered, and the roses still look nice and fresh!)  I really enjoyed that some of the roses were unopened buds...I always love watching a beautiful flower bloom!

The flowers came in a nice box, and would make a lovely gift to send someone. I actually tried it out, and gave these to my Mom.  Fedex dropped the box off, so I brought my Mom in, had her sit down, and let her open the package :)  She was delighted!  She went through each rose individually before putting them in the vase!

Aren't they absolutely gorgeous?!

I highly recommend California Blooms to anyone looking for a place to order flowers for delivery.  Whether you need them for a birthday or anniversary gift, or as a "just because", whoever receives a bouquet from California Blooms will be sure to love them!

Disclaimer:I was not monetarily compensated in any way for this review. I did receive 2 dozen roses for the purpose of review.  All thoughts and opinions are my own. All quotes taken from the California Blooms website.

Thymes Bath & Body Products-Review!!

Thymes offers unique bath, body and home products, in an assortment of beautiful scents.  I was given the opportunity to review a couple products from Thymes...I received the Kimono Rose Body Wash, Essentials Face Polish, and the Face Lotion SPF 20.
I picked the Kimono Rose scent because it sounded like a somewhat exotic fragrance, and I was right! This is absolutely one of my top favorite fragrances now!  Thymes describes this fragrance as : "A sheer, sensuous floral with sweet clementine, voluptuous cassis, satiny rose, peony and jasmine petals, finished with a kiss of vanilla."
All I have to say is it is definitely a very unique scent, and I am in love with it! It is a very feminine fragrance, not overly strong, but it lasts for hours! The body wash itself is a very rich formula, and using it I can definitely tell my skin is softer.  It's also very moisturizing, and after using this wash I don't feel the need to use any body lotion, which is very rare for me. Generally I have to apply lotion every morning after I shower, but this is so rich I don't really have to.

I really enjoyed the Face Polish. This polish is made with a fine powder of sea algae, which means it exfoliates without being abrasive.  It also has aloe vera and glycerin to soothe and moisturize your skin.  It has a very light fragrance of cucumber and tangerine. Even though I have somewhat sensitive skin, this face polish hasn't irritated my skin at all. It leaves my face feeling clean and fresh, without having that tight, dry feeling.

I also enjoyed the Face Lotion, especially with the added benefit of it being SPF 20.  It's not oily, but is quickly absorbed into the skin...leaving my face moisturized and protected from the sun's rays!

"As it has been since our beginning, we strive to create products that stand apart in their uncompromising quality and attention to detail. From the way they make your skin feel, to how they restore and brighten your outlook, to the way they look on your counter or dressing table.
Our goal is to create collections that are as unique and complex as you are. With expressive, evocative scents that convey style, atmosphere, personality, feeling…with beautifully designed packaging. And safe, beneficial products you can truly feel good about using and giving.
And because we know that one scent doesn’t fit all, we offer an eclectic gallery of collections for bath, body and home…each with its own distinctive aesthetic in fragrance, formula, attitude and look. Celebrating your individuality and helping you find rituals that leave you refreshed and renewed."

So, is you're on the lookout for some new bath and body products, or want to find a new, beautifully unique scent, I definitely recommend you check out Thymes!

Food Should Taste Good-Review!!

Everyone would agree that Food Should Taste Good...and this company is committed to making sure your food does taste good!  Food Should Taste Good offers Tortilla Chips that are made with high-quality, all-natural ingredients. There are 11 flavor varieties available, and each one is gluten, cholesterol and trans-fat free; certified Kosher, and lower sodium!  And on top of all that-they taste good!
I was given the opportunity to pick 5 flavors to review. After checking out the details of each flavor, I picked the Cheddar, Jalapeno, The Works, Yellow Corn, and Chocolate (I couldn't resist trying some chocolate...chips!).

When the chips came in I tried the chocolate ones first. It was somewhat strange at first to be eating chips with a chocolate flavor :0  After eating a couple, though, I really started to like the unique flavor! I think I would prefer the chocolate variety without the salt, but still really enjoyed them!
The Yellow Corn were of course a big hit, since our whole family loves chips and salsa! These chips taste exactly like the kind you get in a real Mexican restaurant. I sort of tried keeping these ones just for myself at first, but then decided it was mean to keep this wonderful flavor all to myself :)
The Works are loaded with flavor...garlic, onion, poppy and caraway seeds all contribute to the wonderful taste! I have to say these were probably my favorite variety!  You don't need any dip or salsa with these chips, they're bursting with flavor by themselves!
My sister tried the Jalapeno chips. I'm not a huge pepper fan (other than green peppers), but she eats a lot of spicy foods and adds peppers to a lot of sandwiches and salads. So, I knew she would enjoy this flavor. Sure enough, she said they were very good!
My younger siblings enjoyed the Cheddar flavor the most. They'll eat anything with cheese flavor, but it was nice to let them eat these chips knowing they were actually good for them!  The bag of Cheddar chips didn't last very long!

Here's what Pete Lescoe, founder of FSTG, has to say about the company:
" I love food.  I’ve been working in restaurants and grocery stores my whole life, and if I’ve learned anything, it’s that food tastes best when it’s made with real ingredients.  That’s why I started my own company, dedicated to making wholesome, healthy snacks.  As for the name, Food Should Taste Good, it kind of wrote itself."
