Kauffman's Fruit Farm and Market is a Mennonite-owned company that had it's beginnings back in 1911.
"Founder Amos L. Kauffman planted the first fruit trees in 1911, and today the 3rd, 4th, & 5th generations operate the business. Our warehouse and country market are located in the heart of Pennsylvania's Dutch Country, along Rt. 340 between the villages of Bird-In-Hand and Intercourse (directions).
Our nearby orchards produce over 135 varieties of tree fruits on 100 acres and are managed with a visionary focus that watches changing consumer needs and national market conditions."
Kauffman's has a wealth of delicious products available for purchase online-from fresh fruit to homemade canned goods, drinks to fruit butters! They graciously sent me 2 jars of Jam. These jams are made with high-quality fresh fruits, so I knew they would taste better than the average jam. I was not prepared for how much of a difference there was, though! I received a jar of Pepper Jam, and a jar of Dutch Apple Jam. I have to admit, I had never heard of Pepper Jam before. However, while this had a somewhat unique flavor, it was very good! It's not too spicy, and very flavorful.
The Dutch Apple Jam was my favorite. This is very sweet, and has the perfect apple taste. I started using this on toast for breakfast in the mornings, and it's a great way to start my day!
My favorite way to eat it, though, is on warm homemade biscuits...that is absolutely delicious!
I compared the ingredient list on the Kauffman Jams to regular jams, and I liked that there were only 5 ingredients in this jam. No preservatives, and no high fructose corn syrup. It gives a much fresher taste, and it's much more enjoyable, knowing there's not a lot of artificial junk in it.
Kauffman's Jam is giving 2-18 oz. jars of Jam to one of my readers!!
