Do you suffer from calluses? I have calluses formed on my heels and big toes from playing racquetball, and just applying a moisturizing lotion doesn't help. But, I have found a product that does! It's made by Gehwol, a company founded in Germany well over 100 years ago.
"In 1868 in Lübbecke in the Westphalia region of Germany, the pharmacist Eduard Gerlach took over his father's colonial goods store and expanded it with a drugstore. With his drugstore, which was the first of its kind at that time, Gerlach laid the foundation for a prospering family business, which, with the brand name Gehwol, has obtained international recognition and has become a synonym for foot-care.
Gelach is rightly regarded as the pioneer of modern foot-care. As a soldier he was able to find out for himself how unbearably painful sore feet can be. As a pharmacist he was able to successfully mix fundamental substances such as potassium carbonate, unsaturated fatty-acids, mineral based lubricants and disinfecting essential oils in such a way that he was able to market "E.Gerlach's Preservative Cream" in 1882.
Thanks to the unique properties of his special cream and the modern manufacturing methods used, Gerlach was the first person to succeed with the large scale production of a foot-care preparation that was reasonably priced and of consistent high-quality. His brand quickly found a ready market, and received many international awards."
I was sent a tube of Gehwol's Med Callus Cream. This high-quality cream is made with high concentrations of Urea, strengthened with glycerin and allantoin. The cream actually loosens the cell bonds of hard callus layers, and with proper usage, generally produces callus-free feet within 28 days. It softens the area almost immediately, though, so you don't have to wait 4 weeks for relief. In addition to reducing calluses, this cream protects, strengthens, moisturizes and smoothes the skin...making it soft and supple. I have been using this for a couple weeks, and I can definitely tell the calluses are not as bad as they used to be. My skin is much softer and healthier-looking. I was expecting the cream to have a sort of "hospital" smell, but to my (pleasant) surprise, it has a very nice scent. I am very pleased with the cream, and will be keeping this on hand from now on!
