Best Food For Your Baby & Toddler Book Review!!

From Great Expectations comes this helpful, handy book entitled Best Food For Your Baby and Toddler Authored by Jeanette Bessinger and Tracee Yablon-Brenner, this books is designed to help both new ad experienced mothers in making healthy choices when it comes to their child's diet. 384 pages loaded with information on how to go from feeding your baby junk-food, to feeding them natural, homemade foods! While I don't have a child of my own (I'm not even married yet :) I found this book very interesting, and highly informative. I never really thought about it before (not being a mother), but the way we raise our children to eat, even in the first couple years, can and will lay a foundation for the rest of their life. It would be so much easier to start them out on healthy, natural foods from the beginning; instead, we feed them processed foods, and then expect them to make healthy food choices later in life.
Chapters in this book include: American Children's Health Crisis; The Baby Connection, Starting Out Right, The Vegetarian Toddler; Pros and Cons, and the Real Baby Food Guide. I really liked the fact that the authors included recipes for your child from infant up to toddler (and technically older children/adults as well). This book doesn't just show you the problem with how Americans are raising their babies; it gives a real solution and helpful recipes too!

"Food is a vital, essential part of life. The way a baby is nursed and the types of foods provided in the critical first years can affect a child’s eating preferences and habits for a lifetime. More than a child’s main fuel, food can help newborns double in size, energize developing limbs, and have more protective power than medicines to strengthen a young immune system.
