Today I decided to take a break from all the business of the season, and bake up a little treat for the family. Our whole family loves soft pretzels, and we often purchase a freezer pack so they're handy whenever we feel like having a snack. There's nothing like a fresh, home-made soft pretzel, though. And Auntie Anne's has an At-Home Baking Kit that makes baking pretzels a snap! The kit comes with everything you'll need to make 10 yummy, salted or cinnamon sugar pretzels. All you have to add is a little flour (to sprinkle the kneading area), and butter (which is optional).
So, here's a picture journal of our pretzel-baking venture:
Step 1:Dissolve yeast into warm water
Letting the dough rest for 30 minutes :)
10 strips of pretzel dough
Rolling my pretzel
Dipping the pretzel in the baking soda mixture
Ready to bake...
In the oven!
Adding the (optional) butter glaze
All done and ready to eat!!
After letting the pretzels cool for a couple minutes, we dug in! And boy, are these delicious! I love the taste, and the fact that they're homemade. And the best part is, they were so easy to make! This kit really makes homemade pretzels a simple feat!
"Anne and Jonas Beiler didn’t set out to create pretzel perfection when they purchased a Pennsylvania farmer’s market stand in 1988. Instead, they hoped to provide free counseling services to families and couples in their community, and purchased the stand to provide the income needed for their vision. After some experimentation and a few mishaps, Anne and Jonas created a pretzel that customers quickly dubbed “better than the best you’ve ever tasted,” which is the same pretzel we all know and love today.Twenty-two years later, customers are enjoying Auntie Anne’s Pretzel products, dipping sauces, and signature beverages in more than 1,100 locations in 44 states and more than 22 countries, with additional franchises for sale. The company stands apart from its competitors due to its unwavering commitment to extending the brand, successful growth, and providing continued value for all stakeholders. Auntie Anne’s has built its brand on the foundations of the people-focused philosophies established by its founder, quality products, exceptional customer service, attractive and efficient stores, and the fun activity of pretzel making. Today, Auntie Anne’s rolls more than 500,000 pretzels every two days, which is enough to feed a pretzel to every person living in Lancaster County, Pa. (home to Auntie Anne’s, Inc.)."
