Naturally Nora Baking Mixes Review and Giveaway!

Hey everyone, I know with hectic holiday season coming up, you're not going to have a lot of time to bake special treats. But, I have a solution for anyone with that problem. Naturally Nora offers great cake, brownie and frosting mixes, all made with all-natural ingredients! I was sent a box of products for review, and I really had fun making and tasting! I got a box each of Fantastic Fudgy Brownies, Double Fudgy Brownies, Cheerful Chocolate Cake, Alot 'a Dots Cake, Sunny Yellow Cake, Cheerful Chocolate Frosting, Alot 'a Dots Frosting, and Extraordinary Vanilla Frosting. Wow! These mixes made it so easy to just mix up a dessert, and have a quick, tasty dessert that is good for you! No artificial ingredients in here! 
I made the cheerful chocolate cake and frosting first. I honestly expected it to taste a little "off" or "diet". However, that was NOT the case! The cake turned out very rich, chocolate-y and moist. I don't like dry cakes, but this was perfect! After eating a piece, it definitely made me more cheerful :)
The frosting was also very easy to whip up. It made the perfect amount to spread over my cake, and gave an added boost of sweet chocolate to the dessert.

I made the Alot 'a Dots cake/frosting when some friends came over to visit, and the younger kids enjoyed helping me prepare it. The children especially enjoyed this one, with the fun, bright colored sprinkles in the cake and sprinkled over the topping. Again, this turned out a delicious cake, that had everyone begging for seconds!

The brownie mixes both made very rich, sweet and fudgy brownies. My favorite was the Double Fudgy mix, as this one has chocolate chunks in the mix! Yum!

"ONCE UPON A TIME my children went to parties where there were cakes covered in heaps of yummy looking frosting. They especially loved the ones with the colorful confetti dots. Like a good mom, I made the mixes too. Curious about the little colored things in the cake, I read the label. Was I ever surprised! I didn't recognize most of the ingredients- lots of artificial stuff. I wanted something better. So I set out to create delicious cakes that my family would love and I could feel good about.

It sounds easy, but I assure you it wasn't! Finding unbleached, un-bromated wheat flour was hard. I also learned that the "perfectly moist" texture that kids love is typically the result of thickening agents and chemical fillers. All-natural cocoa (processed without alkali) isn't readily available. And the vanilla. Oh, the vanilla! That alone was months of sampling before finding the ideal one. And I still wasn't done. I wanted a delicious all-natural confetti cake. But all-natural dots like that didn't exist! That is, until I convinced a terrific company to create the perfect colored dots with all-natural colors and ingredients just for me.

Since all great cakes need great frosting, I created what I believe are the quickest and easiest all-natural frosting mixes available. The secret? I use real egg whites to make them whip up light and fluffy. My frosting is ready-to-spread in under five minutes whether whipped by hand or mixer.

After over a year of experimenting in the kitchen, I was ready to serve my cakes. And so, having won the coveted "May I Have Seconds?" award from my kids and all their friends, I am pleased to share with you my Naturally Nora dessert mixes."
