I don't think I have ever tried Chai Tea before. I know a lot of people who drink it, and I see it at Starbucks and other cafes, but when I go to a cafe, I usually want coffee. However, after trying some Oregon Chai Tea, I discovered that chai tea is popular for a reason! Seriously, this Oregon Chai Tea is really good!
I was sent a package that included Original, Vanilla, and Sugar-Free Original chai tea mixes, and Original, Vanilla, Caffeine-Free, and Slightly Sweet Original concentrates (and an Oregon Chai t-shirt that is really comfy!).
I tried the Vanilla concentrate first. This was very easy to make-simply mix equal amounts of milk and the concentrate, stir, and you've got Vanilla Chai Tea! You can do this with warm milk if you'd like it hot, but I did mine iced....very good! The original chai tea has a gingerbready-type flavor, and with the vanilla, there's a nice vanilla taste on top of the chai spice. And making it with milk makes for a very rich, creamy beverage! The cartons will last up to 4 weeks after opening in the refrigerator.
I also tried the Original and Sugar-Free mixes. With the mixes you add a packet to 8 oz. of hot water, stir and enjoy! You can add a splash of milk for a creamier drink (yummy!), and you can pour over ice for an iced chai tea. The packets make it easy to have the ability to drink some chai tea anytime you want. They're small, and easy to slip into your purse, handbag, etc. so you can have your favorite chai tea handy!
"Once upon a time—say, 1991—our founder was feeling a little lost, existentially speaking. So she took a break from her everyday and headed for the Himalayas in search of, well, who knows what. (Inspiration, maybe?)
While she was there, she met a man. Whoa, hit the mental brakes there, people! Because here's where the story takes a left turn.
You see, she didn't fall in love with the man. She fell in love with the rich, creamy, spiced tea he was selling. With CHAI. And all it took was one sip.
So she came home and dedicated herself to re-creating and reperfecting this drink of all drinks. Before long, traditional chai's American cousin, Oregon Chai, was born.
Today, Oregon Chai is part of the Kerry, Inc. family. And as the first to bring authentic chai to the United States, we now spend our "everydays" striving to remain true to our Oregonian roots while serving up Me Time wherever, whenever we can."
Now, Oregon Chai is going to give a Variety Pack (like I received) to one of my readers!!
Go to Oregon Chai and tell me which flavor/variety you'd like to try first!
