NRG Fitness DVDs-Review!

I love trying out new exercise dvd programs, and NRG Fitness was kind enough to send me a DVD to review. It's called In The Ring, with Amy Bento; and it is a fast-paced cardio kickboxing workout! I have used a kickboxing workout in the past, so I had an idea of how this would be. However, In The Ring is a much more intense program-you can feel the workout for the rest of the day :)

I love exercise dvds that you can actually feel working different muscles, and this one is on that list! There are four combos and four high intensity intervals that use medicine balls. I don't have a medicine ball, but that's no of the women on the program shows how to do the exercise using a dumbbell instead! The kickboxing parts were my favorite. They are very fun, yet really challenging at the same time-the perfect combination for a great workout! I watched a few minutes before jumping in to see how clear the instructions were. (I have seen some exercise programs that are way too confusing!) It was very easy to follow, even at the fast pace. Amy gives clear, step-by-step help so you can quickly pick up the rhythm of the workout.  The med ball/weight intervals are more low impact than the kickboxing combos, but provide some extra calorie-burning during the program!  Another aspect I liked about this dvd was that it wasn't a lot of the same moves over and over. There are new and different moves added throughout the program so it doesn't get boring. You will be challenged in new ways as you get further in!

NRG Fitness is the home of Amy Bento (the instructor on In The Ring).
